Kit’s reminder was spot on. Even though Zaden had helped her, she still needed to keep her distance from him. This would avoid any unnecessary misunderstandings.

Harriet never expected that Athena would leave Zaden’s place. That would mean she and Zaden would never have any contact again!

She anxiously wanted to persuade her further, but Zaden spoke first. “Fine. I’ll have my assistant come help you.”

“That’s not necessary. I really don’t have much stuff.”

This made it sound like she was desperately trying to distance herself from him—and after Zaden had just helped her! It felt like biting the hand that feeds you.

Athena could only add, “Well then, thanks for the help!”

The next day, Athena woke up planning to tell Teri about her decision to leave. But she searched the entire villa without seeing Zaden and Teri.

Strange… they were definitely here last night.

How did they suddenly disappear?

Just as she was puzzling over this, the villa’s doorbell rang. She immediately went to answer it. She saw Zaden’s assistant, Tommy Croft, at the door.

He was dressed in a sharp business suit. He greeted politely, “Ms. Hall, Mr. Storm sent me to help you pack and see you off.”

Athena nodded and asked casually, “Where’s Zaden? And Teri is nowhere to be seen either. I don’t know where they went.”

“Ms. Hall, Mrs. Storm had Mr. Storm and Ms. Storm return to the Storm Villa today.” After saying this, Tommy added earnestly, “Ms. Storm is too attached to you. It’s good that Mr. Storm took her back home, so she won’t throw a tantrum when she sees you leaving.

“You have to understand–when Teri really throws a fit, she’s not easy to calm down!”

After hearing Tommy’s explanation, Athena suddenly understood.

So that was it!

She actually felt reluctant about leaving Teri. She could serve as Teri’s therapist. But she couldn’t keep living with Zaden forever. She would have to leave eventually.

Zaden brought Teri into the living room. Beverly sat there with a serious expression on her face. Beside her sat a woman dressed in designer clothes with exquisite styling.

Seeing the woman next to Beverly, Zaden’s brow furrowed almost imperceptibly.

He had a pretty good idea of what this scene was about.

“Mom,” Zaden sat down casually.

This morning, Beverly had said she was having a bad episode. She had asked him to bring Teri back home. He had thought she was really sick. Instead, she had tricked him into coming back!

Beverly’s face lit up with a smile as she looked at Zaden. She said, “Zaden, you met Ms. Jynn before. I’ve arranged with the Jynns for Ms. Jynn to do her internship at the Storms‘ hospital. Why don’t you take her there today to get everything set up?”

The Storms‘ business interests were wide–ranging. Their hospital was among the top in the industry. It offered not only generous salaries but also limitless future prospects.

Rachel looked up at Zaden. Her eyes showed the sparkle of a young woman with romantic feelings.

I’m looking forward to working with you, Mr. Storm.”

Zaden’s lips pressed into a thin line.

Last time, his mother had arranged for him to go on a blind date with Rachel. But when he went out for some air, he happened to run into Athena. He left halfway through. Later his mother had called him about it, and he had clearly expressed his refusal.

He thought his mother had given up on the idea.

He never expected that she still wouldn’t give up. She was trying to plant a woman in his life.
