Chapter 6 Have You Calmed Down?

It was me who called 911. Tyrone, he-

Raine blurted it out before realizing what she’d just said.

Aella shut her eyes. In that instant, whatever love she had left for him justvanished.

Of course. His first love was back and she’d brought a fiveyearold son with her.

Why would Tyrone care whether Aella lived or died?

Her chest ached so sharply she pressed both hands against her heart. Curling up, she whispered weakly, Virginia, Rainemy mom just had surgery. I don’t want her or my dad seeing me like this. Please, take me home.”

Virginia quickly turned to her daughter. Go start the car. Then she squeezed Aella’s hand gently. The doctor said it’s just low blood sugar and stress. Resting at home will be better for you. Don’t worry, honey, I’ll handle it. I already called Tyrone and told him to come home right away.”

During the drive, Aella made them promise again begged them not to meddle in her marriage. However much it hurt, she needed to end this herself.

Back home, Virginia and Raine stayed by her side the whole day. They gave her medicine, made her porridge, and did everything they could to comfort her.

But Tyrone never showed.

Aella drifted in and out of sleep until evening. When she finally felt a bit stronger, she insisted they both go home and rest.

Alone at the sink, she looked at herself in the mirror.

Just a few days had turned her into a ghost pale, hollow, exhausted.

She brushed her teeth and set the cup down.

Crash.

The cup shattered against the floor.

Aella slowly knelt and picked up a shard. The cup had once had a photo printed on it her and Tyrone, smiling together. Now it was nothing but broken porcelain.

She’d ordered the set online for their first anniversary.

Couple mugs. A cute selfie she’d snapped while leaning on his shoulder.

He’d said it was childish and refused to use it.

She’d begged him for a week cried all night

All the emotions she’d been holding back came flooding out.

She hurled the other cup. Then another. She swept everything off the counter holder, bottles, all of it crashing to the floor.

soap dish, toothbrush

From the sink to the shower, she tore through the room, breaking whatever she could reach.

Fifteen minutes later, she collapsed on the cold tile, surrounded by wreckage glass shards, pieces of ceramic, twisted towels, even tangled charging cords.

She lay there sobbing, until the sobs turned into a hoarse, bitter laugh.

She had imagined so many futures with Tyrone.

But never this.

Never being left like this broken, pathetic, alone.

Meanwhile, at the Winter Estate-

Virginia nearly exploded the moment her son walked in.

Tyrone! Is this what you call taking care of your wife? She ended up in the hospital! Do you even know that?

Tyrone’s face stayed blank. What did the doctor say?

Raine glared at him. The doctor said she fainted from low blood sugar and from you upsetting her!

Tyrone gave a short, cold grunt.

Virginia couldn’t hold back anymore. Your wife collapses at home, and you don’t even care? What kind of attitude is that?

She’s fine,Tyrone said flatly. Don’t worry.

He knew she was faking it. He knew her better than anyone.

Virginia threw the test results at him. Tyrone skimmed them, unimpressed.

So, she was learning new tricks now. Running to his parents, even fooling the doctor.

Virginia shoved a steaming container of porridge into his hands. Take this to her. Now.

Before he could move, Ralph Winter’s voice cut through the room, cold and sharp.

What do you know? You’re just a housewife. A man’s job is to focus on his career.

Then, even colder: Her family’s bankrupt, she’s got nothing. We’ve already been generous by not forcing Tyrone to divorce her. She should be grateful.

A woman with no career, no children, can’t even take care of herself what use is she?

Tyrone didn’t bother arguing. He muttered a few polite words, took the food container, and walked out.

Raine hurried after him. Tyronethat womanis she back?

His hand froze on the car door.

He turned slowly. What woman?

Raine clenched her fists, her voice shaking with anger. The woman you posted about that night! The one with the kid! I saw it!

His eyes darkened. Did you tell Aella?

Raine froze under his gaze, panic flickering in her eyes.

After a long silence, she stammered, guilt written all over her face. Aella’s always been so good to me. I was afraid she’d leave you if she found out. I didn’t tell her anything, I swear.”

Aella must’ve told her to keep quiet- she probably already had a plan.

Tyrone’s expression softened a little.

He warned, voice low and icy, Watch what you say. If I ever find out you’re spreading rumors, don’t come crying to me for money.”

Raine stomped her foot as he drove off, fury bubbling in her chest.

Damn it-

So it was true. Tyrone really was cheating.

When Tyrone returned to the villa he shared with Aella, the place was so quiet it felt hollow.

He set the food container on the dining table and went upstairs.

The bedroom was empty. No sign of her.

He shrugged off his jacket, loosened his tie, unbuttoned his collar, and headed toward the bathroom.

At this hour, she was probably still at the hospital taking care of her mother.

She couldn’t even keep her little act going properly.

Just as he reached the door, his phone buzzed.

He glanced at the screen, paused, and answered.
