From Neglected Wife to CEO’s Obsession novel Chapter 193

I didn’t notice anything, and apparently, neither did Remy.

What kind of twisted love triangle had we just walked into?

Elliot looked like he was carved from ice, every inch of him radiating frost. Mandy, on the other hand, was practically in tears, her face full of hurt and heartbreak, like she’d just been betrayed by the entire universe.

Honestly, if Remy and I hadn’t barged in, these two—handsome guy, beautiful girl—probably would’ve ended up confessing their feelings after some deep, soul-baring talk. No wonder one was cold as a glacier and the other looked like her world had just ended.

Clearly, we were the ones interrupting something big.

“Sorry, Mr. Swanson, I didn’t realize you were here. We didn’t mean to intrude. We’ll just get out of your way.” I shot Remy a look, practically begging him to catch on and follow me out.

But he just kept his head down, totally focused on fussing with a stubborn bandage, acting like he couldn’t hear a thing.

My patience snapped. I grabbed a grape from the fruit bowl and got ready to chuck it at him, hoping it would finally get his attention.

Let’s be real: one guy, one girl hiding out in a lounge? Everyone knows what that means. This was obviously about love, and the last thing we needed was to play the part of the clumsy third wheels ruining their moment.

Remy finally seemed to get it. He glanced up, looking a little lost, then peeked behind him. When he spotted Elliot and Mandy, he froze for a second, then said, “Sorry, Mr. Swanson. We didn’t mean to interrupt your date. We’ll leave you two alone.”

Elliot’s icy stare somehow got even colder.

“I’m nothing like Mr. Thompson, and I doubt I ever will be. This is just a conversation between friends, Mr. Thompson. No need to jump to conclusions,” Elliot replied, voice razor-sharp.
