Chapter 225 Jet’s Little Crush
“Alright,” Caroline said, “but I need to check Denton’s wounds.”
Tyler nodded and opened the door for her.
Inside, Denton was fast asleep on Tyler’s couch.
He was only 17, still thin and fragile, looking much younger when he slept.
Caroline sighed quietly. He really was just a kid.
She walked closer to examine him. The cuts were deep, and he was running a high fever.
Maybe the boy finally felt safe at Tyler’s place; he was able to relax and sleep soundly.
Even when she checked his injuries, he didn’t wake up.
Beside the couch, Silver stood quietly with her little head tilted, round
Jet had followed Caroline there too.

full of worry.
He squatted nearby, staring at Silver with a look that said a thousand words.
Caroline had a feeling. If she hadn’t told Jet to stay quiet in front of others, he’d already be chatting up that tiny dove.
“Wait here,” she told Tyler. “I’ll grab some medicine.”
Tyler nodded.
When Caroline turned to leave, she realized Jet refused to leave.
He just stood there, eyes locked on Silver.
Caroline wasn’t that clueless–she understood at once. The little parrot had a crush on Silver!
When Caroline tried to pull him out, he refused to budge. He even pretended his injured wing hurt, whining dramatically.
To help his recovery, Caroline had put a small splint on his wing and wrapped it in bandages.
Jet couldn’t fly. He could only hop around.

Caroline gave him a sharp glare. Jet shuffled a few steps, then whispered, “That chick is really
cute.”
Caroline froze. Chick? Where on earth did he learn that term?
For a second, she honestly wanted to shut off Jet’s tablet forever.
Caroline glared at the cheeky little parrot like he was a pervert. She flicked him hard on the head. “Jet! You two are not a match at all. She’s a dove, and you’re a parrot! She’s tiny, and you
She rolled her eyes in exasperation.
Jet didn’t care at all. “Species doesn’t matter. Size doesn’t matter. Not even gender matters!”
Caroline nearly lost it. Without another word, she dragged Jet home.
She didn’t even bother to get the medicine first. Caroline went straight for his tablet. When she checked his watch history, her jaw dropped.
And wow, what a surprise!
Jet had been watching a famous anime clip she had downloaded from a certain website, with scrolling comments from viewers.
The shows themselves were fine–but those comments? Way too much influence for a bird with zero self–control.
Caroline’s face went dark. She took the tablet away and muttered, “Not on my watch, buddy. You’re not turning into a flirt because of the internet.”
When Jet saw his toy being put away, he squawked loudly and tried to jump onto the couch to
act cute.
But he moved too fast; his injured wing hit the side of the couch. He fell flat on his back with a loud thud. The whole thing looked ridiculous.
Raven glanced over, raising his eyes just a little. His blank expression practically said, What an
idiot.
Caroline ignored Jet’s nonsense. She reached into her storage space and pulled out a jar of black healing salve–the one she’d traded with Nathaniel for. Tyler had specifically asked for
this.
It was made from pure herbal ingredients with the help of the storage space, meant for bruises

and injuries.
Denton’s wounds were mostly external, so this would be enough.
As for his fever, Caroline figured Tyler probably had that covered.
She handed the medicine to Tyler and explained how to use it.
It was simple; just apply it directly on the wound.
Caroline had tested this medicine before. It worked faster than regular cream, left no scars,
and felt cool on the skin. Not as miraculous as spring water, but close enough.
That’s why she trusted it enough to trade it and now shared it with Tyler.
Tyler thanked her. He tossed his space ring toward her. “Pick whatever you want.”
The moment the ring landed in her palm, Caroline felt a strong vibration from her chest.
Her gemstone was reacting again—it meant Tyler had just disconnected his bond with the ring.
She froze for a moment, suppressing the restlessness in her chest. She gave a teasing smile. “Aren’t you
worried I’ll take your space ring and run off?”
Without even lifting his head, Tyler carefully applied the medicine to Denton’s wounds. From the side, his frown looked almost fatherly—like a dad tending to his sick kid.
“Would you?” Tyler replied calmly.
