Caroline saw some watches, pens, and pendants in there–little things Harry liked.

She also found a pigeon–blood ruby, about the size of an egg!

As soon as she pulled it out, the storage space started shaking.

Caroline realized it meant the gem could be used to upgrade the storage space.

She put it in for now to level up the storage space later.

There was also some cash and gold bars.

Nothing special, so she tossed them in the storage space too.

Then she found a box. Inside were two keys.

They were fancy and bigger than a hand, probably for some big locks.

She only saw the letters A and B on them, nothing else.

But if Harry carried them around, they had to be important.

Finally, there was a stack of papers in the box.

Caroline opened it and raised an eyebrow. Talk about a jackpot! A canned food factory.

For the rest of the way, Caroline put on her ice skates and brought Raven to the apartment door.

She was still nervous that the army might take away Raven if they learned he had the ability, so she needed to keep his ability hidden for now.

Back at the apartment, Caroline immediately heard a lot of noise.

Everyone sounded excited.

Caroline was puzzled. What’s going on here?

She grabbed a soldier and asked, “What’s happening?”

The soldier’s face was beaming, eyes shining.

“Colonel Sutton went to headquarters and brought back two craftsmen. He also managed to get three more generators approved! Now all eight elevators in our shelter are working! No more climbing stairs again!”

Caroline’s eyes lit up. Great news! Francis really knows how to get things done!

The elevators were a huge deal for the soldiers.

They spent all day running up and down the shelter, and their legs were always sore.,

Now, with elevators, everything would be so much easier.

Some soldiers said the first time they got cornbread, they were so happy they nearly cried.

Caroline watched Haroldson happily munching on a cornbread in one hand and a sausage from the base in the other. Seeing him enjoy it so much, she felt pretty good too.
