**TITLE: Doomsday Rebirth 408**
**CONTENT: Chapter 408 Plan to Move**
“I will dissect you piece by piece before you take your last breath. You will witness every agonizing moment as I cut into your stomach,” Nelson declared, his voice icy and devoid of emotion.
William stood there, waiting, biding his time for the moment when Nelson would finally lose his cool. He could see the tension building in Nelson’s posture, the way his fingers twitched as he reached into his pocket for the scalpel.
“Cut out your liver, Bod,” he muttered under his breath, though it was more a reflection of his own anxiety than a threat.
Earlier, Nelson had maintained his composure, keeping a safe distance that prevented William from making any sudden moves towards the glinting blade. But now, the air was charged with a palpable madness, and William sensed his opportunity was at hand.
In a sudden surge of adrenaline, William sprang forward, catching Nelson off guard. With a swift motion, he knocked him out from behind, snatching the precious research from his grasp. The thrill of escape washed over him—until he collided with Caroline.
Caroline’s eyes narrowed as she approached the scene, her expression unreadable. “Well, well, look who we have here,” she said, her tone laced with mockery as she observed William, now helplessly bound. She leaned in closer, tapping his cheek lightly. “Don’t worry; our dear Nelson will take very good care of you later.”
In a swift and ruthless act, she eliminated the other two individuals who posed a threat, leaving William as the sole subject for Nelson’s twisted experiments and a tool for revenge.
An hour later, in the dimly lit lab, Nelson finally managed to extract the plague antibodies, meticulously transforming them into a serum. He was utterly drained, his body protesting with every movement. With trembling hands, he passed vial after vial of the antidote to Caroline. “Here. The rest are still in the process of being produced…”
But before he could finish his sentence, exhaustion took over; his head tilted, and he succumbed to sleep, standing upright.
Tyler, quick on his feet, caught the vials just before they slipped from Nelson’s grasp, his heart racing at the near disaster. Nelson, oblivious to the chaos around him, leaned against Caroline, his head resting on her shoulder, lost in a deep slumber.
Caroline could hear the rhythm of his breathing, steady and calming, and it tugged at her heartstrings.
“Take him upstairs to rest. I’ll head down to the shelter,” she instructed softly, careful not to disturb the fragile peace of his sleep. Tyler nodded in agreement, lifting Nelson effortlessly and carrying him up the stairs.
