Chapter 307
Blake’s POV
“Mr. Parker.” Adrian looked up as the woman stopped resisting in his arms. A cold smile played on his lips. “Do you see this? This is my wife, not your Audrey Sinclair!”
“This is my final warning. If you continue harassing my wife, I’ll not only cancel our collaboration but mobilize everything the Knox family and Parker International have against you. Show some self-restraint!”
I studied the woman carefully. She wasn’t embracing Adrian at all – nothing like what a loving couple should look like. They were clearly putting on an act for my benefit.
But his threat made me pause. While Parker Group was powerful, Parker International’s influence in Australia couldn’t be ignored. If we went to war, both sides would suffer significant damage.

Why would they risk this for a woman with no connection to them? Unless she truly wasn’t Audrey. But if she wasn’t Audrey, where was the real Evelyn Knox?
The doorbell interrupted my thoughts.
“Who is it?” Adrian frowned.
“Someone with the bandages.” She pulled away from him quickly. “Mr. Parker was injured by Emma. I promised to treat his wound.”
As she headed for the door, I turned to Adrian. “Are you really willing to become my enemy over a woman?”
Pain flashed in his eyes before he masked it. “Why wouldn’t I? When someone harasses my wife right in front of me, should I just stand there and do nothing?”
“Is she really your wife?” I stared him down. “Your acting isn’t fooling anyone.”
We locked eyes for a long moment until Adrian finally looked away, glancing at my wounded knee and the first aid kit.

my daughter hurt you.” His mouth curved into a mocking smile. “A grown man
He sighed. “So that’s why you’re sticking around
making such a fuss over a cut from a four-year-old?”
I leaned back on the sofa like I owned the place. “Asking the person who injured me for treatment isn’t excessive.”
‘Emma is four. You want her to treat you?”
“She has a mother, doesn’t she?” I smiled. “I suggest you give us some privacy. When your so-called wife treats my wound, I don’t think you’ll want to watch.”
Adrian froze, clearly caught off guard.
His delayed reactions to my provocations about his wife were telling. A man in love wouldn’t tolerate such disrespect.
“You’ve supposedly been together for years,” I continued, studying his face. “You must know her wound-treating habits. Which antiseptic does she prefer? How many times does she disinfect?”
His expression grew increasingly uncomfortable.
‘Can’t answer? Strange for a husband to know so little about his wife.” I took a sip of tea. “I remember every detail about how Audrey Sinclair treated wounds.”
Adrian’s face darkened. “You remember those details because you caused her injuries so often?”
His words stung.
Memories flooded back – Audrey treating her wounds, telling me she was fine:
“Thalia probably didn’t mean it. This wound should heal quickly.”
‘I injured myself by accident, don’t worry about it.”
“I’m used to being hurt, don’t mind it.”
Each time, I’d interrupt her with a cold face, saying I didn’t care if she was hurt. The pain in her eyes always cut deeper than any physical wound.
Though it hurt me to see her like that, my pride never allowed me to show concern. I’d pretend to work while secretly watching her treat her injuries, only leaving when I knew she was okay.
I thought that was enough. As long as she wasn’t seriously injured, everything was fine.
Now I realized how many times I could have prevented her pain. My pathetic pride wouldn’t let me care for the woman I believed had schemed her way into my life.
Looking back, there was only regret.
I gripped my teacup tightly. If Audrey were still alive, I’d spend every remaining minute making it up to her.
I glanced toward the door, waiting for Evelyn to return. If her wound-treating habits matched Audrey’s, that would confirm my suspicions.
Footsteps approached – two sets. I watched the doorway, noticing Adrian’s obvious nervousness.
Two women entered. The one I suspected was Audrey led the way, followed by…
“What are you doing here?” I frowned at Rachel.
‘Mrs. Knox asked me to come,” Rachel explained, eyeing my knee. “Thought you’d go home after not finding Snow. Didn’t expect you to chase her here.”
She sat beside me with a sigh, opening the first aid kit. “How deep is it?”
“I don’t need your help,” I said through clenched teeth.
I’d wanted “Evelyn” to treat my wound. Instead, she’d called Rachel.
“If not me,
then who?” Rachel frowned. “You can’t seriously expect Mrs. Knox to do it. Her calling me means she doesn’t want that kind of contact with you.”
She leaned closer, lowering her voice. “Blake, stop being stubborn. I can tell she’s not Audrey. Stop testing her.”

Her casual exposure of my intentions darkened my mood instantly.
“You say she’s not Audrey, and that makes it fact?” I didn’t bother keeping my voice down. “You spent four years as a vegetative patient. Do you even know what Audrey looks like now? Are your instincts that reliable?”
Rachel looked stunned by my direct attack. “That’s not what I meant
“Then what did you mean?” I laughed coldly. “As Audrey’s best friend, I thought you’d hope she was alive like I do. Guess I was
