Chapter 335
Adrian laughed without humor and showed me his phone. “Then explain this.”
looked at the screen and felt like I’d been punched in the gut.
was a wedding invitation with my name and Blake’s, happening in three days. There was even a photo of us in wedding clothes.
I stared at it, completely confused. Blake and I had married while he was still a vegetative patient. We never took wedding photos. Later, when William suggested a proper ceremony with pictures, Blake refused.
म
The image was clearly photoshopped and badly. Anyone with basic skills could spot it immediately.
What the hell?
Astrid had sent me Blake and Rachel’s invitation this afternoon. It had their names and pictures, with a note explaining the rushed circumstances.
This invitation made no sense at all.
Eleanor took the phone from my hands. When she saw the screen,
her eyes

‘What is this?” she looked at me, confused. “Why is there a wedding invitation with you and Blake Parker?”
Jeffrey’s face darkened. “Are you to see William, or to reconnect with Blake?”
“I-I began, but Eleanor cut me off.
“Evelyn,” she took my hand. “We know how emotional you are. Given your history with Blake…”
“You think I can’t let go of the past?” I pulled my hand away. “That I’ll crawl back to Blake with zero self-respect?”
I took a step back. “I already died once because of him. I’m not making that mistake again.”
“I’ve been saying this for months. Have I contacted the Parkers even once since waking up? You know I haven’t.”
I pointed at the phone. “Blake and I never took wedding photos in three years of marriage. That picture is fake, and so is the invitation.”
‘I don’t get why you’d doubt me over this obvious forgery after living with me for months.”
I lifted my chin. “Either way, I’m going. I have to.”
I turned to Emma with a forced smile. “Ready for bath time, sweetie?”
Emma ran to me, wrapping her arms around my legs. “Yes! Mommy, bath time!”
I knelt to pick her up, and she kissed my cheek.
“Mommy!” she said clearly. “Grandpa, Grandma, and Daddy don’t believe you, but Emma and Snow do! My mommy is the best mommy ever, leave Emma for some mean man!”
I froze, stunned that she’d understood our adult conversation. At just four years old, she showed a maturity that broke my heart.
“You’re right,” I whispered, hugging her tight. “Mommy will never leave you.”
I carried her upstairs, away from the tension below.

Chapter 335
I watched Audrey leave with Emma, my eyes narrowing slightly.
Once I heard their bedroom door close, Eleanor turned to me. “Adrian, what’s going on?”
Jeffrey approached, looking at my phone. “Where did you get this invitation?”
“From New York, I said casually. “Parker didn’t make it.”
Eleanor frowned. “If Blake didn’t make it, why did you
‘I wanted to test her,” I admitted. “I’ve been trying to get closer to her this month, but she just avoided me. She needs to become my Evelyn completely.”
