Divorce Me Before Death Takes Me, CEO novel Chapter 374

Chapter 374

Audrey’s POV

“Audrey was my wife,” Blake said as he handed the first aid kit to Adrian. “I have an obligation to help right the wrongs she

suffered.”

I stared at him, genuinely shocked. During our three years of marriage, whenever Rebecca or Thalia humiliated me, I secretly hoped Blake would defend me. He never did. Not once.

When I’d cry telling him about their treatment, his solution was tossing me a credit card – “Buy yourself something nice.” As if shopping could heal that kind of hurt. And now, ten months after my “death,” he suddenly has this epiphany? Suddenly cares about how I was treated? What a joke.

Adrian positioned himself between us, blocking my view. “Defend your dead ex-wife all you want. I’ll take care of my living wife.”

Blake just nodded to Michael. “Get this glass cleaned up.”

A staff member pushed past Victoria while clearing debris. “Move aside, please.”

She stepped on glass and screamed. “Blood! Mom!”

Richard immediately snapped, “My daughter’s hurt! Where’s the first aid kit?”

When the employee pointed our way, Richard lunged for the kit in Adrian’s hands. “Give me that! My daughter needs it!”

Adrian held firm. “Mr. Sinclair, the woman bleeding in front of me is also your daughter.”

Richard paused, looking at the glass in my leg. Blood had already soaked through my pants.

“It hurts!” Victoria wailed from across the room. “Is it in my bone? Am I gonna be crippled?”

That did it. Richard grabbed the kit. “She’s not my daughter! Victoria is the only child I care about besides Audrey!”

“Don’t try selling me this twin sister bullshit. My wife had one baby. One. I’ll sue you for making up these lies!”

Something in Adrian snapped as he directly punched Richard, who crashed to the floor, bandages scattering everywhere.

Before anyone could move, Adrian was on top of him, fist connecting with Richard’s face again and again.

“You think Evelyn never knew about you?”

“She found out she was adopted as a teenager. She investigated you both.” Another hit. Blood sprayed onto Rebecca’s dress, sending her scrambling backward.

“She knew exactly how you abandoned her and what you said! Every detail!”

The Parker women huddled together, backing away from the violence.

‘All these years, she never reported you for child abandonment!” Adrian continued hitting him. “She protected you because you were her biological parents. She didn’t want to destroy you!”

Richard tried blocking the blows but couldn’t.

“She believed you at least cared for her twin. She was relieved thinking that despite abandoning her, you loved her sister!”

“But what happened?” Adrian roared, landing another blow. “Before dying, she learned her twin was mistreated and ignored just like

her!”

He yanked Richard’s collar. “You don’t deserve to be her parents!”

“Dad!” Victoria tried rushing forward.

Elaine grabbed her. “Stay back! He’s too violent! If you get hurt too…”

Victoria’s face flushed with rage. “Let my father go! The Sinclairs will sue you for

She stopped mid-sentence when Adrian looked up, his blue eyes freezing her in place.

Not a soul intervened. Even security stood frozen, watching Richard Sinclair get what many thought he deserved.

I just sat there. The glass in my leg hurt less than learning how my sister had lived and died without ever meeting me.

“Mr. Knox, Rachel’s voice cut through, “keep going and you’ll kill him. That wasn’t your plan today, was it?”

Blake frowned at Rachel. She approached Adrian, lightly touching his shoulder.

Adrian punched Richard again. “Back off.”

Richard’s hand fell limp to the floor.

Rachel turned to me. “Mrs. Knox, stop him! Biological father or not, he’ll die if this continues!”

I stood up, blood dripping from my leg as I walked to Adrian. I tapped his shoulder. “Enough.”

His fist froze mid-air. I handed him tissues from my purse. “You’re a mess. Clean up.”

Adrian touched my face, his bloody fingers leaving streaks. “Evelyn?”

I smiled. “Calm down.”

He exhaled and stood. Richard lay on the floor, face swollen and bloody.

I knelt beside Richard with fresh tissues. “I’m sorry about my husband. But if you want someone to blame, blame me. I’m the one who wanted to hit you.”

Through the swelling, his eyes locked on mine. “You… bitch! You’re not – ”

“Going to claim I’m not your daughter?” I interrupted, tossing the bloody tissues aside as I stood. “After twenty-five years, you think there’s no evidence left of what happened? What if I told you I found some?”

Richard’s eyes widened. “Impossible…”

“Is it?” I asked coldly.

I tossed the bloody tissues aside and got to my feet. From my bag, I grabbed a pocket projector and set it up, plugging in the cables.

I pulled up a video file. “This was recorded twenty-five years ago,” I said, hitting play. “Some med students were filming a day-in- the-life project and hid cameras around the hospital. They wanted shots of doctors doing their rounds.”

I glanced at Richard, now being helped up by Elaine and Victoria. “They caught something they weren’t supposed to.”

On screen, a younger Richard hurried out of the nursery carrying two blanket-wrapped bundles.

He stopped at a garbage bin, checked no one was watching, then dropped one bundle into the trash.

The room filled with shocked whispers. Olivia’s jaw dropped.

“He threw a baby in the garbage?” she said. “The actual garbage? Jesus…”

“Olivia!” Elizabeth hissed. “Shut up.”

The video continued, surprising everyone. Richard carried the remaining baby to another nursery at the far end of the hall.

Minutes later, he rushed out with a different wailing infant.
