The Rogue Alpha and the Werewolf King (by Hailey Kristine) novel Chapter 104

Chapter104

Evangelina’s POV

As soon as we walk out to the dias the pack quiets. There are over 2,000 people standing shoulder to shoulder on the ground, being that we have visiting alphas and warriors.

Good afternoon everyone.Warrick speaks, one of our fae is amplifying his voice, making it sound like he is speaking into a microphone.

As many of you know, Alpha Evan is my goddess given second chance mate. As you may have seen, I messed up and have spent the last few weeks in what some may say is a terrible attempt of wooing. He pauses as people chuckle. Today, Alpha Evan of the rogue pack decided to accept our bond. She is now the Queen Luna and we will stand side by side in order to ensure ALL beings have a chance at a good life.He says squeezing my hand as I take a small step forward.

As you may have noticed, the rogue pack and the royal pack have merged due to our mating. IF you have any concerns we are open to answering any questions and easing your worries. We are also giving members a choice, if they do not like this merge, to leave. You can go to another pack or become a nomad. Others who outright refuse will be dismissed from the pack. Only know that with our merging packs others may follow suit and welcome more species than just wolves. Keep that in mind if you are deciding to leave because you take issue with different species.I say, stepping back as Warrick pulls me to his side, smiling. Cheers light up and all we can hear is the roaring of voices. Then one by one people begin to take a knee, giving us the ultimate sign of respect. I hear a few grumble about doing it, but follow suit in order to not be the only one standing.

Once everyone has kneeled I bow to them, Warrick following suit, and many gasp. Royalty bows to no one, or so they have been told.

Thank you all and remember your options. Please come see us if you would like to speak.” I say as we turn

around and enter the castle, leaving them.

The rest of the day blurs by as we speak to as it seems, every pack member. Listening to concerns and

easing worries.

Once it’s time for dinner, Warrick and I make our way to the dinning hall, hand in hand. Walking in we see all of the smiling faces and I feel the happiness, not only in our bond, but throughout the room.

There are more people than ever that are sitting in here, and it is more than just my pack, it is a varying degree of all people and I smile. We walk up to the buffet and grab our meal, walking back to our normal table. Warrick pulls out my chair for me and I thank him as I sit. I look around noticing that Jax, Linc, Nali, Tali, Marie, and Iris are here, but no Henry or Mason.

So.. Congrats you two.Linc says, nudging my side and I chuckle.

Yea congrats. It’s about damn time.Nali says and there are a chorus of agreements. I shake my head as I feel Warrick’s hand squeeze my thigh.

I would have waited longer if I needed to.He answers and I look into his blue orange eyes, seeing and feeling the sincerity of his words. I smile and lay my head on his shoulder, enjoying the feeling of being with

him.

Ew gag. You two stop. You’re too lovey.” Jax says as I roll my eyes at him. He smirks at Warrick and I before returning to his potatoes.

So what happens now?Mason asks, coming up and joining us, taking the seat next to an unusually quiet Iris.

What do you mean?Warrick asks him.

I mean with the packs. Jobs, housing, training, schools, everything.Mason elaborates and I frown. Unfortunately, Mason, we can’t decide on those things until after the war. All of the pack is training at the moment and we can’t start giving jobs when that should be our focus. Everything stays the same as it is until after the war. Then we can take into account anything that is destroyed and..Warrick trails off. I feel the inevitable sorrow and I understand.

Any people we may lose.I finish for him and the table grows quiet. We continue eating, all in our own thoughts.

Did you get anybody who wanted to leave?Iris asks and I shrug my shoulders.

Naturally. Quite a few people wanted to, actually. After speaking with them, their worries eased, but there were still about 20 that wanted to leave after the war.” I answer honestly and she nods.

Speaking of which.Iris starts and looks at Mason worriedly. He nods his head and I see his arm move toward her under the table, likely giving her confort, but I smile from the action. I knew there was more there.

I am joining Mason’s battalion for the second wave if needed. She says confidently, looking at me and Warrick in what seems to be defiance and determination. Warrick sputteres on his drink, while th rest of the table stops what they were doing to look at Iris.

No.Warrick chokes out and I scrunch my eyebrows at his immediate refusal.

It’s not up for discussion, I was merely informing you.” Iris says.

If mom goes, then I do too. It’s not fair.Nali wines and I feel Linc tense behind me.

Nali it’s not the same. You are pregnant.I say before Linc has a chance to speak. At least I can look like the bad guy and not him.

That doesn’t matter. I should be out there. YOU trained me for this. She argues and by now we have gained more than a fair share of people staring and listening in around us.

No! I’ll be damned if..” Warrick starts, but I cut him off by standing.

Let’s take this to the conference room,I say as I take my lemonade and begin to walk out of the room. I hear everybody else following my lead. I feel Warrick’s anger building up through the bond the whole way there.

Once the door is closed he explodes

NO! YOU TWO ARE NOT GOING OUT THERE. IT WILL STAY AS PLANNED.He yells and I sigh, sitting my drink down and walking over to him. He looks at me and I can feel him soften a little, but he is still angry. Wrapping my arms around him, he does the same and leans down. Taking in my scent, he inhales deeply and exhales a few times to regain composure. Once I am satisfied that he is calmer, I pull away and look into his eyes.

Warrick, your mother is a formidable warrior, She may be older than she was since the last battle that she was in, but she stood by your father’s side and was a force to be reckoned with. She still is she will be an

asset.I say to him and I see the tick of his jaw as he lets go of my body completely and glares at me.

As much as I HATE you insinuating that I am OLD. She is right. Mason and I both have the power and control to pull the water from the body and suffocate somebody. Something not many water gifted can do. Warrick, honey, as much as you want to protect me, you can’t. I have decided this and you can’t change my mind.” Iris says as she makes her way to Warrick and cups his cheeks, forcing him to look into her eyes. His eyes grow

teary.

1. Just don’t want to lose you mom.” He whispers as a tear trails down his face, and it breaks me.

I know. I know. But you can’t keep me in bubble wrap while others fight. I was made for this. I fought beside your father and I will fight beside you, my love. She says, pulling Warrick’s face to her and resting it on her shoulder. He sniffles.

Second wave with Mason. He says and she nods.

Second wave with Mason.” She agrees and they stay there for a moment.

Well if mom is going I am too.Nali says and I hear rumbles from over the room.

You are pregnant. Pregnant she wolves DON’T fight.Linc says and I know he is going to be in the dog house tonight with the glare that she has settled on him. I sigh and bring my fingers to the bridge of my nose to fight the growing headache. What can she do that would pacify her need to help? My eyes open as the idea

comes to me.

Nali, would you be able to help in the infirmary? You being pregnant would stop any injured wolves from lashing out.I ask and her eyes light up.

Yes.” She answers quickly and I smile slightly.

You don’t know that, Evan.Linc says and I roll my eyes.

Linc, you worry too much. It’s common knowledge that all wolves protect the children and women. Pregnant women are even more of a no no to the shifter side of us. You are just being stubborn.I say and he shakes
