Chapter 105
Chapter105
Evangelia’s POV
The past few days have been a blur. We have been training, going over strategy, going through interrogation. records and so far we have found another 5 people who aided Hadley in either poisoning Warrick and Jax, or have been hiding information regarding pack requests and attacks.
People think that all we are focused on is planning for the attack, they have grown careless, and we are using
this as an opportunity.
Warrick and I have come up with a plan, where after the war we are going to be doing some ‘restructuring‘. Meaning we are going to be replacing all of the people who are traitors with trustworthy people. We are also going to add different positions that are like what I have set up. The council elders, multiple gammas, as well as the administrators that Warrick has now. With each of the administrator’s there will be people who will report to them. We will have a very hands on approach to approving the requests. We are also thinking about creating a yearly conference for the all Alpha’s where they can personally speak to the aid they need and concerns they may have.
All in al it has been a VERY productive three days. Warrick and I have also been bonding in more ways than
one, wink wink.
Currently we are in his office, taking a break from the conversation of potential candidates for monetary requests. I am straddling his lap and we are both relaxing in each other’s scent.
“Goddess, I could live in your scent. Do you think chocolate lavender muffins would be a thing you could try?” He asks randomly and I laugh, pulling back to meet his gaze.
“What?” I ask and he smiles awkwardly, bringing his hand up to the back of his neck.
“It would be weird, wouldn’t it?” He says as he looks away embarrassed.
“Maybe, maybe not. I could try it and see. It’s been a while since I have tried experimenting in the kitchen.” I answer and he looks back toward me, bringing me in for a kiss.
“I love you, Evangelina.” He whispers against my lips, sending a tingle down my spine.
At first I was opposed to him calling me that, but I have since realized that I am still that young girl who grew up with parents who loved her and a pack who cared for her. Evangelina, even though she was associated with the younger me, is still me. I have no need to hide who I was anymore, I have no need to run from my past, when it has created who I am today.
“I love you, Warrick.” I say back, feeling the smile spread across his face as he kisses me again. Just as the kiss was getting REALLY good, the door burst open. I look to see a disheveled Ingrid with wild eyes.
“Sorry to burst in, but..” Her words travel away as I am pulled into the vision of a battle on the southern outskirts of town. Buildings burning behind us, trees falling and burning in front of us. This is the worst place we have strategized. It borders the market. We planned for the farmland to be destroyed, because the pack is surrounded by farmland to be as self–sufficient as possible. I am pulled out of the vision and shoot to my
feet.
“Southland, just beyond the market.” Ingrid and I say at the same time. Warrick rushes to his feet and makes

his way over to the uniform I had made for him. I hear his midlink, letting everybody know the attack is coming, as I make my way to the trigger for the alarm. We installed church bells that signal the attack. Adults and teens know what it means, where the kids won’t panic at a blaring alarm.
“Ingrid, please help with leading people to the bunkers, by the sun’s positioning in the vision, we have about 30 minutes.” I say and she nods, quickly rushing out, as Warrick and I follow. I ran down the stairs, grabbing vests and weapons on the way. We have them all over the castle and barracks, waiting for people to grab them. One wonderful thing is that they are spelled to fit whoever puts it on. One of the runes stitched inside
ensures that.
We make our way out the door and run to position in the south. Everyone is going to their designated areas, covering the whole castle, just in case the enemy decides to switch where they invade. Each raid has 50 people and we are leading 4 of them to the south. We arrive and wait for everybody to join us, as we watch the perimeter of intruders.
I look around to see that Linc, Marie, Jax, and Henry’s raid are all here. My other gamma’s mindlink me that they are in place. I also see that Mason and Ingrid are holding back the second wave at the top of a hill to our right. Not so close that they won’t be in the crosshairs of the first wave and are far enough away to watch the battle and know when to come to aid. I see a slight bob of the head and return the gesture:
Taking deep breaths, I try to steady my breathing, feeling for all of my weapons to memorize where they are. Once I am done I do it again, and again, until Warrick grabs my hand and forces me to look at him.
“It will be okay. Everyone has been shown the sketch of Ziana and knows not to engage. Subdue if they have to, but nothing more. She will be safe, you will be safe. I have your back and you have mine. We will win, my love.” He says, gazing into my eyes and his words are like a balm to the worries I didn’t even know that I had. I nod my head and kiss him.
“We will win.” I whisper as he rests his forehead against mine. His fire and fresh rain scent calming me even
