Chapter108
Ziana’s POV
I look around the camp at the third wave of troops waiting for command to charge. I am to stay here and go with them when the time comes. After all I am the secret weapon, not only to make my mother heel, but also in my powerful gift of electricity. I could bring down 20 people with one well placed strike. Father is watching on the outskirts, waiting for the right time to attack and call the second wave.
I sit on a log with my best friend Adria. Her knee jumps as her pink eyes bounce around the camp. Together, we make an undefeatable team. Our warrior training and battle prowess are like dances. Combine that with our gifs and we are something to behold. At least that is what I am told.
Wimpers come from our left and I know that it is the twins, Kit and Kat. The third wave is the last resort, the
brainwashed people and the kids who have no business fighting. I grind my teeth at the thought. Screams
and clinking of metal are heard in the distance and I can’t help but shake as the nerves get to me. I can’t just
sit here and wait, but that is the plan and I need to follow it in order to help efficiently.
“Do you think this is a good idea?” Adria whispers to me and nod, but before I can reply I am pulled into a vision. Father is screaming about mother letting the king mark her and he begins to choke her. I look to the right to see Edina, father’s personal dark witch, in the middle of four of our strongest warriors. Her black eyes narrow, focusing on the shield. I know from that look that she is blocking any abilities a shifter may have. When she begins to shake I know that healing, magic, and shifting have been blocked in her shield. I glance around in panic and see Warrick, the king, frozen in dread, watching as Franklin begins to beat my mother and scream at her for giving herself to the wrong king. He pulls out a blade and before he can plunge it into her chest I am pulled back from the vision, panting and looking around in panic.
“What’s wrong?” Adria asks me and I look at her.
“We need to go now.” I whisper in a panic. Her eyes widen and look around frantically.
“What?” She whispers harshly.
“Father is going to kill her. Once that happens they will lose. If we go in after, the royal pack will think we are the enemy and we will end up fighting on the wrong side. We must go,” explain quickly and stand up, looking around the group. I make my way towards the three people I need. Once I get there I kneel down in front of the twin wolves and vampire.
“We need to go now.” I say and they look at me in paníc, as Lettie, the vampire stands. He looks down at me with his black, worried eyes.
“Are you sure?” He asks and I nod. Lettie quickly disappears and as I open my mouth somebody interrupts.
explain to the twins,
“HEY! What are you sh*tlin’s doing? Get back into position.” A guard yells and the twins flinch.
“Let’s go.” I say as boots begin to stomp behind us. We all grab onto each other and in the next moment we are on the outskirts of the fight. It’s a bloodbath, bodies are everywhere. Not that I am not accustomed to it. but the twin’s aren’t.
I look around quickly, spotting an older woman and man at the top of a small hill in the distance watching the battle. I point to them and we are transported to the top of the hill, facing them. They startle and I hear

swords being withdrawn from people behind them.
“Please, take them. They can’t fight and they will be forced to.” I say to the woman, who seems more appealing than the man. Her blue eyes soften a little and look behind me towards the 10 year old twins behind me. She nods and calls for somebody.
“Take them to the back so they don’t have to watch.” She orders and the lady bows her head and ushers us to
follow her. I shake my head and look back at the older woman.
“Thank you.” I say as I take a step toward Adria.
“Ziana?” She asks and I raise my eyebrow at the name that pricks at a memory in the back of my head. I push it away. “Come with us, we will protect you.” The man says and I turn my attention to him. He seems kind now, but I can’t take him up on the offer when I know what I need to do.
“I don’t need protection, this is what I was raised for. Thank you though.” I answer as they reach for me, but miss as I disappear into the battle of blood.
“There.” I say pointing to four wolves, closing in on another three, one is an Alpha. Two are protecting the
injured one.
“We need to let them know we are on their side, and you can take the injured to their infirmary for them.” I say to Adria and she nods her head, grabbing my wrist and transporting me to the group. We end up in the middle, and I call to my electricity, directing it towards the four wolves who drop dead from the shock to their heart. Even in the rain, I can use my electricity to perfection. Thanks to my years of training.
