Ziana’s POV

I don’t waste any time as I charge into battle, fighting against the very people that I have had to live with my whole life. None of their deaths bother me as I tear through them, and reign down electric shock. My killer mode has been activated and I run through the wave slashing and cutting, toward the middle, where I know! need to be. I reach a point where four fae, a wolf and a bear are closing in on two women and my anger soars as I feel Adria appear next to me and transport me to them. When we stopped I s***h three of the fae with my blade, who were standing together. While doing so I sent electricity down my sword, stopping their hearts.

“YOU LET HIM MARK YOU?!” I hear my father yell and I gather my bearings, finding the scene of my vision begin to play out. I find Edina to my right and begin to run towards her.

“WARRICK!” I scream and pray that he looks at me, so he can register when the shield is down. I feel Adria’s hand on my shoulder and we end up in the middle of the group holding Edina. Adria kills one of the men as I knock Edina down and plummet my hand in her chest, and pull out her heart. I look behind me and connect eyes with Warrick.

“GO!” I scream and point the hand with Edina’s heart toward my father and mother. He begins to run and before I can stand I feel the stab of a sword penetrate me through my back.

I look down to see the sword sticking out my front and gasp as the pain. Holy hell it hurts. I know from the

pain that it is Lockwood’s dark enchanted sword and curse myself.

1 grunt when I feel the sword exit my body. Fighting the dark fire that is spreading through my body I bring

down a lightning strike that splits at the ends and shocks the last two guards dead.

“Angel.” Adria says as she helps me stand.

“It’s fine.” I grunt as I look to see my mother and Warrick in an embrace. The last of the second wave is fading

and I know they think it’s over but it’s not.

“We need to warn them the third wave is coming.” I heave and Adria eyes me warily.

“I can do that.” She says as I shake my head.

“Just transport me to them please.” I say, nodding my head in their direction. She nods and in the next moment I am standing in front of my mother and Warrick. She gasps as she stares at me.

“Z. Ziana.” She says. Her face black, blue and bloody, but beginning to heal. I force a smile on my face.

“Hello mother. Lcame to let you know that there is a third wave that will be coming as soon as they hear Father is dead. They are brainwashed to fight to the death if he dies. They won’t stop. I am going to wait with the other’s who would like sanctuary. Would you please grant them that?” I ask and she bobs her head as she

listens.

“Of course, honey.” She says as she approaches me and I hold up my hand, stopping her.

“Me and Adria will walk out with them once the battle is over, please don’t kill who we bring.” I say and look to Warrick for his confirmation. He nods.

“You have my word.” He says and I nod.

“Thank you and good luck.” I say as Adria takes me back to the camp. We end up in the center and I gasp at the pain that shoots through me.

Everybody quiets when we land.

“Franklin is dead.” I announce, my voice traveling through the forest near us. Immediately people begin running to the bloody field.

“If you wish to stay, we have been promised sanctuary in the royal kingdom!” I yell through the stampede of soldiers. I look at Adria, her worried gaze looking over me.

“I need you to go and monitor when the battle is over and we can come out.” I say and she shakes her head.

“I need to take you to the infirmary.” She argues and I glare at her.

“I am fine. Just a knife wound. Go. We need to be ready to come out as soon as the battle is over.” I say and she nods her head and disappears. Once she leaves, I let myself collapse to the ground. Lettie catches me

and I see his worried gaze.

“I was able to get word to everyone when you left and 15 said they would stay.” He says and I nod, slowly. His blonde ponytail, turning into two pigtails. He sniffs and his eyes begin to darken even more.

“You’re still bleeding.” He says as he lays me down and lifts up my shirt. “Sh*t Angel. What was it?” He asks as he rips his shirt and begins stuffing the wound. I grind my teeth in pain as tears blur my vision.

“Lockwood.” I rasp and Lettie’s eyes go wide.

“Why didn’t you let Addie take you to the infirmary?” He hisses.

“Not like.. they would know.. How to.. treat a black magic.. sword.” I heave out.
