Chapter 110
Lettie’s POV
“No. No. No. No” I say as I squeeze Angel’s body to me. She can’t die, she just can’t. I don’t know how long we have been like this, but it seems too long as we wait for Adria to return. Finally I saw the blonde hair appear
and hear a sob wrack her.
“Wh. What happened?” She asks. I stand with Angel in my arms.
“No time, she needs to get to the infirmary.” I say, as Addie trembles.
“I. I can’t. I used the last of my energy coming back here.” She trembles and looks at me.
“You have to take her. Run forward and don’t stop, the infirmary is next to the castle.” She says and I have to grit my teeth in anger. It’s not her fault, Angel told her to leave, she was only listening.
As I feel a drop of blood travel down my arm, it sets me in motion. I don’t say anything as I take off. I reach the clearing in no time, but the fresh blood begs me to turn. I focus on the dark magic in Angel’s blood to turn me away as I spot the castle in the distance and run as fast as I can to it. With people trying to clear the bodies and help the injured, nobody notices me. I see a large white tent and enter it, startling what smells like
a fae.
“Please help her.” I say motioning to Angel in my arms. Her eyes sadden as she feels for a heartbeat on Angel’s wrist.
“I’m sorry honey, but she..” She starts.
“NO! She is still alive. It’s just slow.” I argue. As she opened her mouth to speak again, a man walks forward.
“Ziana.” He whispers, staring at Angel. He’s tall, has longer blonde hair and green eyes, but I notice some of the features on his face are the same as Angel’s.
“Get Laughtness.” He commands the fae and she looks at the man like he has lost his mind.
“Beta she doesn’t have..” she starts, but he cuts in.
“This is my niece and the queen’s daughter. Get. Laughtness.” He commands and the woman trembles.
“Laughtness is busy with Beta Jaxon, Beta.” Another lady comes up.
“We need a witch. She was poisoned with dark magic.” I interrupt and they all turn to look at me.
“Get Esmorelda, have her meet us in room 102.” The Beta says as he turns to me.
“Follow me.” He says as he rushes into the building to the side of the tent. I follow without question. We enter a room with a chair and a bed. Setting Angel down on the bed, as I do an elderly witch comes in and gasps at
the sight.
She doesn’t waste time pushing me out of the way and revealing the clogged wound. Pulling out the herbs, wrapped in my shirt she looks at me.
“Why hasn’t she healed?” She asks.
“She was stabbed with a blade infused with dark magic. It ensures that nothing can close. You need to do a transfusion, while pulling the magic out.” I say and she nods, then looks at the dying frame on the bed.
Chapter 110
“We will need blood, she has lost too much already.” Esmorelda says.
“I’m her uncle, take mine.” The beta says and she nods. As he takes a seat, a nurse comes in and inserts a tube to his arm, then connects it to Angel. The witch looks at me in question.
“You need to connect another tube that pulls her blood out so you can clean it and put it back in. I see the nurse nod her head and run out of the room. She comes back seconds later with a machine that looks like a large tape recorder connected to tubes and hooks up the tubes to Angel. The machine starts and I see the blood enter the tube and make its way around, going back into Angel. I stare at the witch expectantly, but she gives me the same, unknowing look.
“Focus on the magic in the blood.” I direct as she hovers her hands over the machine with her eyes closed.
“Okay.” She answers.
“Now feel for the darkness.” I say and she nods.
“I feel it.” She confirms.
“Now pull it. Just the dark magic, nothing else.” I instruct. I hear her gasp and that is my sign that she is doing it right. Goddess I pray she is strong, because not many witches can handle cleansing blood.
After about ten minutes of me just standing there watching as Esmorelda cleanses the blood, I hear a shout
down the hall.
“Where is she?!” A woman’s voice calls and a couple seconds later the figure stands in the doorway. It shocks
me to see that she is an older version of Angel, just with different colored eyes. This must be her mother, the
queen.
“No.” She whispers as a hulking man comes and places a hand on her shoulder. His blue orange eyes pierce
mine.
“What happened?” He growls and I flinch at his aura.
“She was stabbed with a dark magic infused blade. Mrs. Esmorelda is cleansing Angel’s blood of the magic.” I answer and he eyes me skeptically as the queen enters the room, ignoring me, and grabbing Angel’s hand.
“Linc?” She asks in question and I turn to see the man from earlier opening his eyes.
“She lost too much blood and I was here.” He answered tiredly. He has given too much, but isn’t complaining. I walk to the side of the queen and eye the wound. It has closed on the outside, but there are still black vines surrounding where the skin has stiched itself. I place my hand on it and feel for her blood.
“She has enough blood now. It just needs to be cleansed.” I say while focusing on her blood. I hear her heartbeat, which is stronger than before. Thank goddess.
The nurse listens to me and unhooks Beta Linc and Angel.
“Who are you?” The queen asks and I open my eyes, meeting her gray ones.
“I am a very close friend to Angel I say and she eyes me curiously.
“How do you know this stuff?” She asks and I flinch as reminders of me watching this happen multiple times before, mostly on this very person, try to push its way to my mind. I clear my throat and look down.
“I was a part of the cleansing process. Being a vampire, I could tell when the darkness was out of the blood.” I answer honestly. I jump as I feel a hand on mine. Opening my eyes, I meet hers again.
Chapter 110
“Thank you.” She says sincerely.
“No need to thank me. Your highness.” I say with a bow and she smiles sadly.
