Chapter 12
8 Years Later Evangiina’s POV
It has been 8 years since I met the King. About 4 years ago he must have chosen his mate, or something because I can feel the pains of his betrayal. They aren’t too bad though.
Our mate bond has lessened with the distance and time apart. We have added around 100 more people which is why I am sitting here at 1:00 in the morning staring at paperwork. We
are in the process of trying to expand the veil.
With the new witches we have acquired they are helping, but we still don’t have enough power to expand the veil. Currently I am trying to calculate how many witches we need to expand the veil and we need almost 20 more. Do I ask a neighboring coven for help or do I deal with it until we acquire more witches? I am not sure.
I am mid thought when I get a mindlink from my night guards who are at the veil entrance.
“Alpha. We have three wolves wandering around the border. What would you like us to do?” My guard asks.
“Hang tight and I will be there in a minute.” I tell him and get up with a sigh. I look at my reflection in one of the windows of my office and the bags under my eyes are there to remind me that I haven’t had a good night’s rest in 8 years as well as the added stress to help more packs with rogues. I sigh and walk out of my office and head towards the guard tower.
“Hudson.” I acknowledge the guard and he bows his head.
“Alpha Evan.” He says and looks toward me.
“What are they doing?” I ask as I look out of the veil into the dark forest. It is hard to see faces when it is completely dark outside.
“Just wandering around like they are lost, but searching for something. Two females and one male.” He informs me. Our night guards are normally vampire hybrids so they can see more in the dark. Hudson is a wolf and vampire hybrid. His partner Hoss is a vampire and witch hybrid. Hoss is a man of few words.
“Have they said anything?” I ask as I stare out into the darkness.
“Only from one of the females saying they are in the right area.” He says and I nod my head.” What would you like us to do?” He asks and I sigh.
“Give them another hour and see what they do. If they are still here I will see what they want.” I

heard a voice.
“I told you Talissa, we are in the right spot. We have followed the vision to a T. She is here I know it.” I quickly open my eyes and jerk my head to the dark forest outside the veil. I reach
out to my wolf, Veena.
“Is he here?” I ask, panicked.
“No it’s not him. Just the girls and gamma.” She responds, while reading their auras. Their scent is missing and we can barely feel their auras through the veil, I didn’t notice that we could feel them before but now they are literally standing on the veil about 20 feet away and we can feel them.
“Sh*t.” I whisper out loud causing Hudson and Hoss to look at me in alarm.
“Alpha?” Hudson asks.
“Wait till they move off the veil and I will meet them. Stay here. There is no need to be alarmed though they’re not threats.” I say and I see them visibly relax.
I climb down the tower and wait at the veil until the three of them move. As soon as they move I step out of the veil and Hoss sends a firelight above me to serve as a lamp. As the area lights up the girls gasp and the Gamma steps in front of them. When he realizes who I am he relaxes and moves out of the girls‘ way.
“I told you we were in the right spot!” Nalissa says. They have grown into beautiful girls. They should be about 17 now.
“What are you doing here?” I ask, not bothering with anything else.
“Talissa had a vision that we needed to find you. So here we are.” Nalissa says and Talissa nods. I give her a questioning look, why didn’t she explain that.
“What do you mean?” I ask for further explanation.
“The.. the moon goddess. Gave me a path. She. she told me that we need to find you. For.. for
training.” Talissa whispers so low I barely hear her. It doesn’t go unnoticed that when she spoke Nalissa and the Gamma’s heads whipped to her with wide eyes. I am pretty sure that Nalissa even gasped.
“How were you able to leave your pack?” I ask, avoiding the fact that they are from the royal pack because I know that my guards are listening.
“It is summer break and now that we are 17, brother let us go to visit our Aunt in Subernal by

ourselves.” Nalissa says and I look around.

“Clearly, this is not Subernal.” I say gesturing to the forest, Subernal is about 7 hours from the castle and we are 6 hours form the Subernal territory.
