Chapter9
Alpha Killian’s POV
I wait in the hall. I need to speak with the King and Queen regarding Ziana. Grim and I decided that we can’t lose her. We have to try everything in our power to get her, so that is why I am standing here, like a creeper, in the weird hallway waiting for them to finish yelling at each other.
I am confused as to what is going on. She is more than angry and I don’t get why. She just proved that she would be an excellent leader. It seems that the King sees it, but she doesn’t. She may not end up being Queen, but she is going to be my Luna. She has just proven to me how perfect she is.
She runs into me and sparks travel through my body. I bite my tongue when she doesn’t even seem phased by the contact.
Okay, I have decided that even though she is wonderful in some aspects, she is really getting to me on not acknowledging the mate bond. And the way she just spoke to her father, I can tell she is going to be a
handful.
I sigh as I push aside my conflicting thoughts and walk cautiously into the conference room. Dodging a chair as it flies by my head.
“It’s not a good time, Alpha Killian.” Queen Evan says to me.
“I need to speak with both of you. I apologize, but it can’t wait.” I say, trying to show how serious I am. King
Warrick huffs and and takes a deep breath before facing me. I see so much hurt in his eyes that I feel bad for
him.
“Go on then.” He says, voice rough, while trying to hold back emotion. I eye the King and Queen, my nerves
building.
“Princess Ziana is my mate.” I rush out like a kid. Their movements stop as they stare at me.
“Wh. What?” Queen Evan asks and I can feel heat rushing up my neck. I clear my throat and stand a bit taller.
“Princess Ziana is my mate. She is ignoring the bond and I don’t understand why. I would like your
permission to take her home.” I say, more confidently and they look towards each other, then back at me.
“There is something you should know, Alpha Killian.” The queen says then looks at the king who nods,
encouragingly. “Ziana doesn’t have a wolf. She may not be able to recognize the bond.” She says and I
scrunch my face in confusion.
“I don’t understand, I can smell her wolf.” I say and she nods.
“She is a wolf, but.. She was cursed as a child. With this curse, she lost her wolf. Or at least it binded her
wolf.” She says and I nod slowly.
“Can we discuss this before we move forward? Being as though she is having no reaction to you, we will need
to go about this in a delicate way. And make sure you aren’t making this up.” King warrick asks and my anger
spikes. Grim growls lowly in my chest.
“I assure you, your highness, am not lying about finding my mate.” I growl and he nods.
“I would hope not, but given the situation, we need to make sure, Thank you for coming to us, Alpha Killian,

King Warrick and I need to speak.” Queen Evan explains. I nod slowly, still comprehending the bomb they dropped on me. I walk out of the conference room and down the stairs, making my way outside to wander around. I need to clear my head and process this information.
Ziana’s POV
“You what?!” Addie yells, gripping my shoulders, then throws her head back laughing.
“Yeah. Then Warrick and I got into it, but that’s nothing new when it comes to me taking over.” I say and she
nods.
“Man, I wish I could have been there to see it.” Addie exclaims and I smile, then frown. “What is it?” She asks. “Alpha Killian punched Alpha C*nt when he made the comment about taming me. Don’t you think that’s odd?” I tell her my thoughts. She looks contemplative.
“I mean, maybe? Nobody really knows much about Alpha Kill. Everybody says that he is cold hearted and ruthless, but he seemed nice when I ran into him. Maybe he just doesn’t like women being disrespected.” She shrugs and I nod.
“Yeah, maybe.” I answer, looking up to the ceiling of her room.
“You know. I saw you speaking with Alpha Sebastian.” She says, wiggling her eyebrows. I laugh and throw one of the pillows at her.
“He is good looking, but you know how I feel about Alpha’s. They’re too clingy.” I answer and she barks out a
laugh.
