Chapter24
Ziana’s POV
We walked back to the packhouse in silence. Killian went to his office and Zane followed me to my room, bidding me good night. I fell into the bed and into a deep sleep. The memories and nightmares plague my dreams and I wake in cold sweats at 4:00 in the morning.
I wash my face, find a pair of clothes, cringing at the floral blouse I was still wearing. I changed into a black shirt with half angel sleeves. The front wraps around me, showing off my curves and some cleavage. I throw on a pair of maroon ripped jeans, and black boots.
After getting ready it is 5, so I decide to start unpacking. There are a total of 20 boxes and I make it through 15 of them, organizing clothes, weapons and books.
I open the next box and begin to put it away, when a letter falls out. My heart slows and it feels as though cotton has filled my mouth.
Taking a deep breath I pick up the letter and open it.
‘Where oh where has my little angel gone? I came for a visit today and imagine my surprise when I realized that you weren’t here. I was not able to hear where you went, but the thrill of the hunt is getting me excited. When I find you and rest assured, I will find you, I have many ideas on how to make up for the lost time. Your fear and pain feed me.
Goddess, my angel of death, I wish I could see your face when you read this letter. Be prepared and be vigilant, because you never know when I will find you.
See you soon my angel.
-Truly Yours R‘
The blood drains from my face and my vision blurs. Images of Reginald and Franklin whipping me and beating me flash. My hands began to tremble and I didn’t realize I was crying until a tear dropped on my hand. It brings me out of my state and I glance around the room, grounding myself with the objects of the here and now.
I quickly go through the rest of my boxes, finding the container I am looking for and dump it over the coffee table. Letters fall out and I arrange them from oldest to newest. The first one being from my 18th birthday. The time between letters vary, but all say essentially the same thing. He will come for me because I am his
and when he finally has me he has plans. Some letters are disturbingly detailed, others talk about what he
will do to anybody who stands in his way.
There are 14 letters in total. I take a deep breath as I study them. A knock sounds at the door and I quickly
pile the letter up and place a box on top of them.
“Come in.” I call and the door opens. Zane walks in, a bundle of blonde hair peeking behind his shoulders.
“Good morning love. Adria here demanded to be brought to you right away.” He says, moving to reveal Addie and I smile running to her and wrapping her up in a hug. He chuckles at our embrace.
“I will see you two later. Have fun.” He says and walks out, closing the door behind him. She pulls away, her bright pink eyes studying me.

“How was Mason with Kai?” I ask and she flinches.
“It wasn’t too bad. Kai has been nicknamed pinky since he blushed so much and is smaller than Mason. She
says and I chuckle.
“Leave it to PaPaw Mason to make somebody blush so much it is their nickname.” I chuckle and she shakes
her head.
“Now you need to tell me everything that happened, starting with what happened when you went to Warrick’s office.” She says and I go into detail explaining everything that happened. By the end of it we have moved to the couch and are staring at the letter Reginald sent me. She is quiet.
“Well, I am here now and won’t let those as*holes do that again, although Zane doesn’t seern too bad. Given that I stabbed him and he isn’t holding a grudge.” She laughs, then eyes me since I’m not laughing.
“What gives?” She asks and I look at the letter to her.
“What are we going to do about Reg–eye–na? We can’t hunt him now.” I ask and she huffs.
“One thing at a time. What are you going to do about your mates?” She asks and I sigh, leaning back against
the couch.
“I’m going to ignore them the best that I can. I couldn’t stand for them to hate me and be miserable for the rest of their lives.” I answer confidently and she nods in understanding.
“Would you ever consider telling them? I told Kai last night and he was understanding.” She says, surprising
“You told him?” I ask and she nods.
“Yea, I figured he should know in case he wanted to reject me. He said I was silly for thinking that something
head. I was forced to do when I was 10 would make him think any less of me.” She answers and I shake my
“How do you think they will feel if I tell them I killed not just one but both of their parents? Or that I killed their pack members during the attack?” I ask and she sighs.
“Maybe they will think like Kai. You were only 8 when you were forced to kill their moms and 9 when the attack happened.” She says and I shake my head.
“I’m not going to risk it. I won’t risk them living the rest of their lives with the person who took their mom’s from them or killed pack members. I can’t.” I say and she nods.
“Okay. What about the pack? You are the Luna now.” She asks and I smile sadly.
“I am going to try to be the best Luna I can be. Just like my mother said. I am also going to try to help the people I have hurt.” I answer and she nods. It is what I was doing in the royal pack.
“Now what about Reg–eye–na?” She asks and I groan, leaning back and looking at the coffee table.
“I don’t know. I would prefer to find/him before he finds me, but we have been hunting him actively for over a year now and have found absolutely nothing.” I answer and she looks out the window of the room.
“We could hunt during the night! She states and I stare at her.
“Uh. No we can’t. If you don’t remember, you are mated now. You will be sleeping with him at night. How are
you going to explain getting up in the middle of the night? Just say ‘oh honey, don’t worry. We’re just hunting
e monster
the monster who tortured us as children and can’t seem to catch.“” I ask and she chuckles, her cheeks

brightening.
“Well no. I could tell him that you don’t like sleeping alone. So I could stay with you.” She answers and I shake
