Ziana’s POV

Addie drops me off in my room at 3:15, after which I take a long hot shower, and lay down in bed. We didn’t find anything last night, just like most nights we have gone out.

On the off chance we do find something it’s normally a stray rogue that we take care of. It’s irritating, but understandable given that Reginald was the one proficient in hiding. What are the chances that we would

find him the first time we look in a week?

I fall asleep for a few hours and wake up at 7:50 to a knock on my door. Groaning, I roll off the bed and open the door. Eyes widening when I come face to face Zane and Killian.

Both of them gulp as their eyes trail down my body. I threw on some shorts and a tank top this morning, not thinking about anything other than sleep. I hurry and slam the door, before their eyes can zero in on one of my numerous large scars that are showing.

“We uh.. Came to see if you want to join us for training.” I hear Killian from behind the door.

“Or would you like to go to breakfast?” Zane asks right after Killian. My heart hurts at their kindness and my

anger surges.

“I’ll meet you at the training grounds. Thank you.” I answer back and head to change. The two strings pull in my heart as they walk away and I rub at my chest.

“Stupid mate bonds.” I grumble as I pull on some training pants.

Zane’s POV

My eyes widen as I take in Ziana’s sleepy form. Her little shorts showing her long smooth legs and that tight tank top gave us a view of her pebbled n*****s. My gaze begins to roam and I notice some small scars on her arms. They land on what looks like a larger scar on her shoulder, but before I could fully adjust and take it in, the door is slammed on our faces. I frown and look at Killian, who is also frowning.

“We uh.. Came to see if you want to join us for training.” Killian tries to explain.

“Or would you like to go to breakfast?” I hurriedly add. We hold our breaths as we wait for a response.

“I’ll meet you at the training grounds. Thank you.” She answers and my heart skips as a small smile makes its way on my face. Killian nods to me with a small smile of his own and we make our way to the elevator. After the door closes he turns to me, now wearing a frown.

“Did you see the large scar on the side of her leg?” He asks and I shake my head.

“No. I noticed the small ones on her arms and thought I saw a large one on her shoulder. Were you able to

see it?” I ask.

“No. I didn’t.” He answered with brows furrowed.

“What do you think happened?” He asks.

“I don’t know, but I would like to find out. I’ll kill whoever marked her like that.” I growl and he nods his head in

agreement.

Chapter30

We make our way to the training grounds deep in the thoughts of our mate and what might have happened to

her. Once we arrive the group before us is leaving. Our head warrior was tasked with running the early

long and the

morning training. Each session is 2 hours long and they run throughout the day for different groups

Killian and I wait giving people numbers as they walk in. I smile when I see Kai and Adria walking in.

“I thought I gave you the week off?” Kill says to Kai. Adria smirks towards Kai as he coughs.

“Well you did, but Addie wanted to come to training.” He says and I see Killian’s eyes show the way I feel. Pride to have such a dedicated gamma female.

“Well Adria, if you would like to watch how training is done you prefer?” I ask and she gives me a mischievous smile.

“Please, call me Zane.” I tell her and she nods.

“You are number 3 and Kai you are number 4.” Killian says, then motions for them to head further inside. Kai glares at Kill for splitting them up, then guides Adria off to the side.

“I’ll be right back.” I say to Killian, then jog to catch up with Adria…

“Adria.” I call out and she stops, turn

around, and eyes me.

“You can call me Addie, Zane.” She says and a small amount of relief comes to me.

“Addie. Can I ask you a question?” I ask her and she nods, slowly. “Does Ziana have a favorite flower? I’d like to get her something she favors, rather than choosing them myself.” I explain quickly. She bites her lip and looks to Kai, who nods his head encouragingly.

“She says and I nod, waiting for her to

“Well uh. The only reason I am telling you is because she deserves to be happy and you seem like a nice man. continue. She sighs. “She likes wildflowers, Nothing too big, flashy, or expensive, just things you can find pretty much anywhere. She doesn’t like Rose’s, Lily’s, Violet’s, or Daisy’s.” She Tists and I make a mental note.

“Thank you. I appreciate it.” I say and she nods, then I turn away to go back to Killian. Midstride, I pause. What are the chances that she doesn’t like the flowers that relate to mine and Killian’s mothers? That thought hurts my heart, but I push it aside. It’s just a coincidence Addie also listed other flowers.

As I reach Killian, Ziana is walking in. She changed into long black athletic pants, combat boots, and a tight black t–shirt. I gaze at her shoulder, wishing I was able to see the scar I think I saw earlier. When I can’t, my gaze trails to her arms and I see the small marks littered all over them. She is wearing rubber bands and bracelets around her wrists and for some reason I want her to take them off.
