The Rogue Alpha and the Werewolf King (by Hailey Kristine) novel Chapter 150

Chapter31

Ziana’s POV.

Two hours later and I don’t want to brag, but I kicked that trainings as*s. As well as Addie’s, since we were paired together for sparring.

I am following Addie towards the door leading into the gym and get cut off from the door by Zane and Killian. Zane looks sheepish, while Killian looks stern, as always.

Go out to lunch with us.” Killian demands. I scowl up at him, his pink eyes flashing in what seems to be excitement.

I have an appointment.I answer and he frowns.

Your appointment isn’t until 2.Killian counters. My nerves kick up as I think about spending alone time with them. I can’t.

Sounds good. Where are we going? I’m starving.” Addie chirps and the relief I feel at her joining us must show on my face because Zane speaks up.

Of course, we can go to the New Sandwich Shop on 5th.” He says and I smile slightly.

Great! Let’s go!Kai says wrapping his arm around Addie’s shoulder and planting a big kiss on her cheek. The blush that makes the way up her cheeks causes happiness to swell in me. She deserves happiness.

We make our way to The New Sandwich Shop, yes the name, and are taken to a private room that fits all of us. For it being a casual dining area, it is quite intimate. There are fairy lights around the room and plants all over. The older waitress takes our drink order, Killian orders for me and I bristle at the notion.

We sit around a round table in awkward silence when Kai clears his throat.

So Ziana, Addie was telling me about King Warrick challenging Alpha Clint.Kai says and I smile in delight at the thought of Alpha Clint being challenged.

Yes, it’s a fight to the death. Warrick will toy with him then brutally kill him. I am so excited to see it. Addie, remind me to bring the popcorn.I smile, gleefully.

I haven’t heard about a challenge.” Killian says and I raise my eyebrow.

Do you expect to hear about everything?I ask and he grunts.

Yes.He answers without thinking.

Ugh. He wants to know everything, but it is hard when we are pretty much a lone pack.Zane says, nudging him.

I’ve already told you. We don’t need any more alliances. We have all we need.” Killian argues.

When is the challenge?Zane asks, poking his head out to see me better.

Not this weekend, but the next. Mom said she would text me the details.I answer and he smiles.

Are we invited?/I never liked Alpha Clint. He is shady.Zane says, making Addie chuckle.

He’s more than that. She says and I kick her under the table.

Chapter31

Ow!Kai exclaims and looks at me. Sh*t, they must have been playing footsie or something because that definitely should have been Addie.

What do you mean?Zane asks her, and looks at me in confusion. Killian’s frown deepens and I scowl.

He has had 7 mates and was requesting permission to take another. More than hinting that he wanted Ziana to be his next mate.” Addie explains, and I kick again. This time connecting with her and she winces just as Killian and Zane growl.

Don’t worry. She stabbed him then threatened him. Pretty sure she almost made him pi’s himself if the other’s explanation of what happened is to be correct.Addie reassures them. Killian grunts in agreement, because he was there, but Zane turns wide eyes to me with a smile.

You stabbed him?He asks and I nod.

Yeah.” I answer.

“And don’t let her fool you. She is hella scary when she means to be. It’s almost like the air is sucked from the room and all you feel is darkness.Addie says again, this time I just stare at her. I can’t believe she just said. that. That is exactly what happens, because of the dark magic I have. It’s almost like people can’t help but

feel the darkness in me and it terrifies them.

I can feel my face pale as the darkness inside me stirs as being recognized, almost as if it is purring.

Addie’s eyes widen when she realizes she said something she shouldn’t have.
