The Rogue Alpha and the Werewolf King (by Hailey Kristine) novel Chapter 155

Ziana’s POV

I look at him in question.

You aren’t going to leave?I ask and he shakes his head.

They died 12 years ago.He says and I nod, staring at him. You are 19 Ziana. Soon to be 20.He says and I feel the weight on my chest get heavier. If Killian would have stopped to think, he would have realized that you would have been 7 when they were kidnapped, 8 when they were killed and 9 during the attack. He says.

So?I manage to choke out and he reaches for me, bringing me into his arms. He kisses my forehead.

Can you tell me what happened? He asks and leads me to the couch and sits down.

What do you want to know?I ask and he brushes his hand down my hair staring intently into my eyes.

Everything. He answers and my lip quivers. A small voice in my head tells me to tell him everything, that I can trust him.

Well. uh. Franklin attacked my pack and took me and my mother back with him. I was two at the time and Franklin raised me. He trained me and sold my wolf to Eris to give me magic and an extra gift. I am the first and only kid that lived through the sacrifice. People think I was cursed by dark magic. They don’t know about the sacrifice. Franklin would have me wander around pack lands so that people would follow me and he could capture people who wanted to help the lost kid. That’s how I got Rose and Lilly. I wandered around the garden and they followed me. They were captured. Once we got back they took care of me. They taught me what packlife should be like, what kindness was, how to love somebody, how to forgive. They were.I choke on a sob. “They were the mothers that I never had. Franklin saw this and told me to kill them. I. I didn’t want to, but they begged me to. He was hurting me. He was going to cut my eye out. I was going to let him, I wanted him to kill me. N. Not them. I’m sorry.I begin to sob as he pulls me close, crooning as he rubs my back and head.

I settle down after a while and he pulls back, then stands up. My heart plummets. He’s going to leave now.

Then he does something I don’t expect. He holds out his hand to me.

I would like to show you something. He says quietly. I don’t say anything as I grab his hand and let him lead me from the office, up the stairs and toHis room. I stop and stare at him. He smiles sheepishly at me.

It’s a bit messy, but don’t mind that.He says as he walks further into the room, letting go of my hand. I step into his room, his smokey teakwood scent enveloping me into a big hug, and filling me with a feeling I have never felt before.

His room is a studio apartment with a large bed in the corner, living room to the far left, a little kitchenette to my left and a door to my right, which leads to a bathroom. There are clothes spread throughout the room and papers laid over a coffee table.

He is rummaging through a nightstand and I watch as he pulls out a thick book and lays it on his bed. He motions for me to come sit next to him and I do. Shuffling next to the side of me, we are both sitting on the bed and leaning against the wall. He places the book in front of the both of us. I look down to see that it is a photo album.

He opens the first page to reveal his parents holding him as a baby. We go through it, him telling me about different memories he has. There are a lot of him and his parents, but also Killian and his family. They all grew up together, one big family.

This is a trip that we went on when I was 10. We went to the bat islands and stayed at a resort. He begins, but I remember the story like it was yesterday.

This is where Killian and you fought over a girl and asked your mother’s to teach you to dance so that you

could impress her.I say and Zane barks out a laugh.

That’s what they told you?He asks and I nod.

They said you both lost in the end and the girl wanted to dance with the 4 year old Kai instead.I finish and

he chuckles.

They were right. Our dads had a field day with that one: We got the lecture of a lifetime to never fight over a

woman. We got it again when we were in our teens. Little did anybody know, we would have to learn to share. He finishes and I smile sadly.

And you still want that? To share?I ask, avoiding eye contact and staring at the happy Alpha and Beta family on the page.

Hey.Zane says, grabbing my chin and turning my head to face him. His yellow eyes hold nothing but care

and love. I want you anyway I can have you. If the goddess deemed that you needed two mates, then so be it. No matter what you share with me, I will be here. You are mine.He says, while wiping away a tear that

sneaked out.

I swear, I never cry this much.I say, with a sad smile.
