Chapter 36

Evangelian’s POV

I was sitting in my office when Harry mindlinked me saying that Ingrid was here with the Werewolf king. He could read the aura from his post. Ingrid had been here twice before, because she wanted to meet the woman who the moon goddess deems good enough for her nephew, the king. At least that was her excuse, I don’t know why she was here, but she was extremely kind to me and my pack. Even to the other species and hybrids. She has actually been trying to help me with my block. The 10 days that I am missing from years ago that my stalker so clearly remembers.

When I greeted Ingrid and Warrick, I had no intention of letting either one of them in, but then I had a vision of the New Border being attacked by bears and wolves. Contrary to what I thought, the new border is not as secure as our original border. There are cracks in it and there has been movement around it. I guess they feel comfortable enough to attack..

I am dropped on the West side of the new border with Henry and 8 warriors. 3 of the 8 being witches. We have found that witches are better at defense magic, basically creating a shield around us that somebody can enter, but not leave. Also ones kind of like the one my stalker uses.

What is Warrick doing here?Henry asks from beside me.

Visiting. Now is probably not a good time to talk, Henry.I say as I see a golden dragon fly in a circle reigning fire down about a mile in front of us.

Linc’s group is the closest. We need to be closer. Francess!I yell and Francess another transporter grabs me and the rest of the group and transports us closer to the circling dragon. I look to see that Linc’s group is already there in the middle, attacking the intruders. We all rush into the circle, and start fighting. Marie’s group arrives shortly after and they are using their powers to assist us.

I feel a claw tear down my arm, drawing blood and I see red. I half shift a tear the bear’s heart out without even blinking. I quickly realize that these shifters are different. They have almost no human presence like most shifters do. They are prepared to fight to the death.

KILL THEM ALL!I yell and that gives everybody a surge of relief. Normally we leave them alive to interrogate them, but we will lose at least half of our people if we do it that way. There are about 15 bears and 10 wolves. All of the wolves turn their attention to me after I yell. They all start running together towards me from all different directions. Bears are harder to take down so they are being fought by all of my warriors, leaving the wolves. I remove one of the wolvespane balls in my vest and wait for just the right moment to open it. I look around to ensure everybody is busy and they are. All the wolves go to jump on me at the same time. I quickly pull the plug of the ball and toss it a little in the air, the crouch and put a water shield around me. I hear the bomb like ball pop and the wimpers. I quickly retract my water before it can be used against me, being that it now has wolvespane in it. There are still flakes of it falling around me and it burns my skin, but I quickly wine that thought from my head as I grab my sword and start tearing through the rogue wolves who are now starting to get back up. I feel a claw rip through the back of my neck and down my vest then turn around and cut its paw off. I look around to see that we are winning now, maybe 5 of my men are down.

After another 10 minutes, all of the enemy’s are killed. I am breathing heavy when Francess pops in front of me, with a look of concern.

Chapter 36

Find the best dead enemy with everything still intact and transport them back to the exam room in cell bloc C. One wolf and one bear if you can.” I say and she nods her head. I stay until the last pack member has best transported back. Daunting comes and lands his huge gold dragon at my side, lowering his head,

Set the bodies on fire.I instruct and he nods his head, then flies a few feet above the ground and huffs out fire to burn the remaining bodies. After they are all successfully on fire he shifts back and I hand him some shorts. He takes them with a blush and quickly puts them on.

Thank you, Alpha.” He says and I nod in acknowledgement.

You did well today, Daunting. Thank you for your help.I say and he smiles shyly.

Anytime Alpha.” He says and Dalya appears before us nodding as she grabs our hands and transports us back to the packhouse.

I see Henry, Linc, Marie, the twins, and Ingrid in one of the gathering rooms and walk up to them.

Everything is taken care of.I say and everybody visibly relaxes.

You’re bleeding.Warrick says from behind me. I jump and turn around. How could I forget that he is here?

Just a little scratch.I say, brushing his statement off. He grabs my arm roughly and his eyes change black with the silver ring, telling me his wolf is fighting for control. He growls as sparks shoot up my arm and I rip it

out of his grasp.

That’s what normally happens when you face an attack.I snap and his eyes change back to his orange and

blue they normally are.

Alpha?I hear a squeak from behind Warrick and I shove him aside roughly to look at the small woman standing in front of me.

Laughtness.I say and smile to her, but her face shows concern.

You need healing. She says and steps closer.

I am fine Laughtness. Focus on the others first.I say and she shakes her head and I see her age for the first time flicker. Fae looks a lot younger than they are. They could be 400 years old and still look like they are 20.

Stubborn, but no. You are first. She says and I roll my eyes.

Stubborn old elf.I say and she smacks my arm with the wound I have.

Careful Alpha. Your wounds may not heal right.” She says and glares at me, causing me to laugh. Faes hate being called elves.

Fine Laughtness. I am sorry.I apologize with a goofy smile and she smiles in satisfaction, sending her healing warmth through me. She steps around me when she is done to check on the rest of the people in the

room.

We need to talk.I say, making eye contact with Warrick. Then I remember what I need to do beforehand and make a rash decision.

Henry, Linc, Marie, take him on a tour. You will be in silver until we can talk. I won’t risk you losing control on my pack members.I say to Warrick and his eyes widen in surprise.
