Chapter 37

Warrick’s POV

“Enjoy your tour?? How the hell am I supposed to enjoy something when I have been put in silver cuffs that are burning my wrists?” I grumble to nobody. Evan is already gone as well as the girls and my aunt. To where? I have no clue. With the way Evan said we needed to talk I thought she was going to castrate me. But instead she put me in cuffs.

“Is the little king upset that he is wearing silver?” The one I have come to know as Marie asks me mockingly.

“Marie!” The other man, Linc I believe, snaps.

“What even if he wasn’t wearing silver he wouldn’t make it out of here alive if he killed me.” She says with a shoulder shrug. I notice the mating mark on her neck and I realize I didn’t even notice my sister’s had their

marks.

“Talissa marked you?” I ask and Marie glares daggers at me.

“Not that is any of your business, but yes she did and I her. Or were you too dull to notice that both of your sisters have a mating mark? They were displayed very clearly.” She jabs at me and I look down in shame. No, I didn’t notice. I didn’t even notice what they were wearing.

“Awe.. I almost feel bad for you.” Marie says in a sickly sweet voice. Finally I get riled up at the disrespect and stand to my feet, getting in her face.

“What the hell is your problem with me?” I ask, while clenching and unclenching my fists. She scoffs and looks me in the eyes for the first time since I have met her. Her dark purple eyes feel like they are penetrating my soul.

“Oh I have a lot of problems with YOU. How about we start with the way that you treated your sisters. Or we can start with the fact that your request board is a piece of dog sh*t that isn’t even worthy enough to be on the bottom of my shoe. OR! Or we could start with the way you treat your mate. You know she..” Marie starts but is interrupted.

“MARIE ENOUGH!” Linc yells, smacking everybody in the face with his aura. I am surprised by the force it has. He is a very strong alpha. Then I feel another forceful aura and realize that it is Marie’s and my eyes widen even larger. I feel like I am getting whiplash by them pushing auras at each other.

“Both of you quit it!” Henry yells and at once the two auras rescind their attack on one another.

“Marie I get that you don’t like Warrick, but you need to think of your mate. He is Tali’s brother and like it or not you have to tolerate him.” Henry says and Marie glares at him.

“Easy for you to say he isn’t the one who’s incompetence destroyed..” She starts and Linc interrupts her

again.

“Marie please stop.” Linc almost begs.

“What? So I have to play nice with the all mighty king who.” She is interrupted again by Henry.

“MARIE!” Henry snaps at her and I am baffled by this exchange. What the hell is going on?

“Would you two quit interrupting me?!” She snaps back.

Chapter 37

“Alpha asked us to give him a tour. If you can’t do it then you need to stay while we go. You know that have our a*ses if we don’t do as she asked.” Henry days and for once Marie quiets down and nods. He makes his way toward me and I am quiet and cautious of turning my back to this little devil dog that might pounce when the opportunity arises. He nods his head to me, telling me with his motions to follow him and 1. do. Linc follows behind and we walk out the main door, Marle staying behind.

Once we step out of the door I suck in a breath. This place is packed with houses and shops that surround a small town square that holds a park a little ways down the road. There are people walking about and I can feel many different types of creatures and auras around. What the hell did I get myself into?

Henry continues to lead us down the porch and onto a dirt path that can fit two people. Once we make it to the main dirt path Henry comes to my left side while Linc comes up to my right.

We continue in silence as my eyes roam around. Everything is made of logs, like cabins. Not like the houses first saw that were literal trees. We stop next to the park and Henry starts gesturing around to different buildings.

“Those are the schools, this is the bakery, book store, apothecary, hospital, vegetable stand.” And the list goes on. I stare in wonder at where all of this came from. “There is a vell that hides our pack from the outside. You can’t see it from the outside, but you can see anybody who wanders around the veil. Like a one way mirror.” He is almost reading my thoughts.

“So all this fits inside the veil?” I ask and he nods his head.

“Yea. There are other houses on the new border, which is where the attack was earlier.” He says and I hear Linc grunt beside me.

“You are a man of few words.” I say to Linc and he raises his eyebrow at me.

“Only to people who I don’t like. Just because I stopped Marie from ripping you a new as*hole doesn’t mean that I like you.” He says and I am taken by surprise and look at Henry who just shrugs his shoulders. It’s then that I really look around at the people in the square. Some are wary of me, but others are openly glaring at

1. me.

“People here have a.. Um.. difficult feelings with the royal pack.” Henry says and I furrow my brow in

confusion.

“Why?” I ask and he shakes his head, telling me not now with his eyes. I hear Linc scoff beside me. “They don’t have a problem with you or the girls though.” I point out and Linc pipes up.

“Oh trust me, we did. At first. But we respected our Alpha’s wishes to be welcoming and found out that they were okay.” Linc says and I grumble.

“You could respect her wishes with me.” I say and Linc laughs dryly.

“We are. We are giving you a tour. She said nothing about being welcoming or respectful to you.” He points out and I nod my head in understanding. That is true.

Henry continues to walk and point out buildings. I continue looking around in awe, but realize that th alot of people now starting to come out and glare at me. Some I recognize as wolves, others are hybrids, bears, witches and some I can’t tell what they are.
