The Rogue Alpha and the Werewolf King (by Hailey Kristine) novel Chapter 67

Chapter 67

Evangelina’s POV

I am walking around watching people, giving pointers here and there on how to attack and defend. Everybody who needs a lower level class has been tapped out. Well, everybody except Hadley. Being an Alpha’s daughter you would think that she would be better. Granted she might be able to hold her own against a rogue, but during a war? She has no concept of strategic battle, she just attacks.

EVERYBODY NEEDS TO BE GIVING 110%! YOUR ENEMY WILL NOT BE NICE TO YOU IN BATTLE!I yell for motivation. My training is more tough love and I have heard some people grumble about it, but I have found it

is most effective.

I look over to see Warrick and Linc going at it. Linc is holding his own as I knew he would. I scan my gaze to Hadley and she is rushing her opponent, again. She is paired with one of my best wolves with no gift, Mura. Thinking that she had an advantage with her gift, but she doesn’t. I wanted to humble her, let her know that people with no magic are just as dangerous. Hadley was laid out both during her fight with no magic and with magic. I walk over to the pair. Hadley was sweating like a pig the day before slaughter.

Hadley.I say and she stops, glaring at me.

What? She snaps and I sigh. I should just let her continue and die during battle, but I can’t.

Instead of getting straight into the fight, take a moment to observe your surroundings and study your opponent. Look at their weaknesses, what can help you win?I say and she looks at me in question then shakes her head.

I don’t need your help. She says and I shake my head.

I thought you did with the number of times you have been put on your as*, but I guess my eyes were playing tricks on me and the number is lower. But who knows, I counted 9 and that is only with the times that I saw.I said and she glared at me, getting back into stance. I stand and cross my arms and nod at Mura. I know that she has been holding back slightly, which also pisses me off. They start and in a blink of an eye Hadley is on the ground, her face pushed into the grass and an arm behind her back. Mura gets off her and she gets up, her wolf is at bay indicating that she is struggling to control it.

That’s enough for today with you. Go get some water and wait for the last exercise.I instruct Hadley and she marches off like a toddler throwing a fit. Mura looks at me and I smile, walking over to the painted square on the grass. She smiles in excitement.

You ready M?I ask and she nods. She shifts into an auburn wolf and launches herself at me. I dodge right. before she clamps down on my shoulder. And spin to kick her in the side. She yelps but turns quickly and rushes me, learning from my last dodge and ends up nipping my arm. I push her head away and

She goes to jump on me and I roll under her. She quickly skids to a stop and turns around scratching my back slightly when I get up. I turn around to see her on her hind legs about to strike down on me with her front two paws. I barrel towards her open mid section which is the most sensitive part of a wolf and she falls backwards grunting when she smacks the ground. I move fast and once she rolled over to get up I land on her back, straddling her and putting my hands in a position that would break her neck.

She lays down and whimpers Indicating that I won and I let go as she shifts back. A towel gets thrown in ou direction and I catch it, handing it to her.

You did a great Job M. Just remember that even when you think you have got the upper hand on your opponent to keep a guard on your weaknesses.I say and she bows slightly to me.

Yes Alpha. Thank you.She says as she wraps the towel around her.

Go and get some clothes on, we are close to the end of training.I inform her and she bows again.

Yes Alpha. She says as she turns around and walks toward our area with extra clothes for people who shift.

I turn around and see that quite a few groups stopped to watch. My eyes land on Warrick who is visibly angry I glance at Linc and give him a questioning look. I see his hand rub his other arm and I look down at my own. The bleeding stopped, but the wounds are still there and the blood is smeared all over my arm, making it look

worse than it is.

I look again to Warrick and realize that he is heaving, while staring at my arm. Realization hits me that heis upset over my being injured. I reach for my whistle and blow getting everybody’s attention and Warrick seems to snap out of his internal

Alright everybody, it’s time for our last part. We are going to be partnered into groups of 10. Each person does 200 push ups, 200 sit ups, 200 squats, 200 burpees and a 2 mile run. The first full group done will be opted out of this tomorrow. The last runs an extra 5 miles.” I explain and the trainers begin grouping people together.

Alpha, what about the ones who won the race yesterday?Anthony asks and I smile.

OH! I almost forgot.I say and see the relief on his face. The ones who won yesterday still have to do it today. New group, new competition.I say and his face falls to dread.
