The Rogue Alpha and the Werewolf King (by Hailey Kristine) novel Chapter 73

Chapter 73

Jaxon’s POV

I was waiting in the new extension to speak with Evan when I heard a commotion..

GET THE HEALERS!I hear yelling from the main foyer and footsteps running up the stairs. I ran out of the sitting room I was waiting in and saw puddles of blood on the floor. My stomach turns at the thought and f run to follow the trail.

It leads to an open bedroom and what I see stops me in my tracks. Evan is lying motionless on the bed, while two fae are on either side of her. Hands over her body.

“She can’t properly heal. There is a chunk of silver in her. We need Esmorelda to get it out.The older fae says. Dayla comes into view holding onto an old woman.

Out of the way.The old woman, who I am assuming is Esmorelda says. She hovers her hands over the wound on Evan’s stomach and then a small chunk of silver is lifted out of it. Floating in the air. She grabs it from the air and steps back, allowing the fae back in..

Jaxon. It’s Warrick. Something is wrong. He is in the infirmary.Iris’s panicked voice flows through my head. I turn on my heel running through the castle, looking for Warrick.

I am pointed to the door he is staying in and burst in.

I am telling you that the pain was real, it felt like somebody tried gutting me.Warrick says sternly to the doctor standing in front of him. Warrick is shirtless as the doctor was examining his abdomen.

What’s going on?I ask as I skid to a stop. I look around the room to see Hadley standing on Warrick’s side and Iris on the other side of the bed.

We were in the middle of my punishment when he fell to the floor in pain.Hadley says, a blush creeping up her pale skin. I try not to gag at the thought of them doing it and look at the doctor.

Is he okay? What happened?I ask the doctor.

It seems that whatever happened has passed. I am thinking it was just some digestion issues. I will need to run blood tests to ensure that everything is okay. The doctor says and Warrick grumbles.

Are blood tests really necessary? He is fine now.Hadley interjects and the doctor looks at her disapprovingly.

I agree I am fine now.Warrick says, rubbing the spot on his abdomen that apparently was the cause of this. My eyes widen as realization hits me. That is the exact spot Evan’s wound is. Everything begins to fall together.

The rogue from years ago who we tortured was Warrick’s mate. I knew that those eyes felt familiar, how could I forget those eyes. She was dirty at the time so I couldn’t make out any other details than those eyes, Evan’s eyes. Who he is hurting, by sleeping with Haldey, and rubbing it in her face that he chose another.

You son of a b*tch.” I say and all eyes snap to me.

Jaxon!I hear Iris yell as I storm out of the room, trying to control my anger.

Chapter 73

I wake to the spell of blood. Gasping, I sit up and throw my hands to my stomach. I lift up my shirt to see the

massive mark on my side.

It is still tender and can reopen. We did as much as we could.Laughtness says from the side of my bed. I look into her tired eyes and smile slightly.

That’s fine. Thank you Laughtness.I say, wincing as I throw my legs over the side of the bed.

Careful. Your system is still working out the effects of the silver. She says placing a hand on my shoulder.

Silver?I ask and she nods her head.

Apparently whatever you were stabbed with had silver in it and a piece broke off into your wound. That’s why you started coughing up blood. She answers and I nod my head in understanding.

I look around the room in confusion.

Where am I?I ask and she looks around as if just now seeing the room.

They took you to the closest room. Hopefully nobody was using it.She says with a shrug and I laugh, causing my wound to throb.

Don’t do that. She scolds and I hold up my hands.

Sorry.I say and she shakes her head at me. Is it safe for me to shower?I ask and she nods. When I stand up I feel dizzy, but hands grab my arms and stabilize me. I see Marie looking at me worriedly.

I’ll help you to the room.” She says and guides my arm over her shoulder. Before we walk out the door Laughtness’s voice stops me.

Oh and Alpha. Before you are surprised. We didn’t have time to work on the damage to your face. As you know there is only so much magic a nonfae person can take. We will do another healing session tomorrow. She says and I nod my head.

Thanks, Laugtness.” I say as Marie practically carries me to my room.

When I walk, or am carried into my bathroom, I see what Laughtness was talking about. My face is swollen on one side with larger cut that streaks from the top of my cheek to my jaw. My eyes are black and blue

and swollen as well.

You okay?Marie asks as she walks into the bathroom with a pair of baggy sweatpants and tshirt. I sigh. Yea. I’m fine.” I say and the look of concern on her face doesn’t disappear.

I know you’re not. If you need to talk I’m here. We all are.” She says and I nod my head.

I know.I say as I motion to take my shirt off. I hear the door close as it gets over mid head.

I look into the mirror again and I see the red, angry wound. It is sealed, but it looks like it could bust open from the slightest touch.
