Evangelina’s POV

I was up the next morning to the smell of bacon wafting around my room. When I open my eyes I see Laughtness walking into the room with Linc, who is holding a tray of food.

“Good to see that you are up and I won’t have to wake you. I know how you are if somebody wakes you.” Laughness says, Making her way towards me. Linc sets the tray on the dresser and walks to the end of the bed, watching as Laughtness hovers her hand over my face, she stops and I open my eyes to see her staring

at my neck.

“Oh my, I didn’t see that before.” She states, taking my head and moving it to the side.

“What is it?” Linc asks and I wince as Laughtness pokes at the bite mark.

“I can make it so that this doesn’t scar too badly. I will have to do this before working on your abdomen, which will reduce the amount of magic to heal the abdomen.” She says and I nod my head eagerly.

“Do it. Please.” I croak and I feel the warmth of the healing magic on my neck. She turns my head back and

looks me in the eye.

“It’s not too noticeable now dear.” She says with slight tears in her eyes. Almost like she knows what Adler promised with that bite. She motions for me to lay down on the bed and I do what she tells me to do. She lifts up my shirt and clicks her tongue at the sight..

“It’s healed remarkably well. I forget that you have a higher tolerance for silver than most.” She says as her hand hovers over the wound, sending the same warm healing magic into the wound. I can feel my body connecting the way it used to be. It is a weird sensation, but a good weird, like I am being put back together. The warmth stops and I look up.

“It will be sore, and if impacted hard will reopen, but it won’t be like before. You’re clear to do normal things, just avoid any forces that can reopen the wound. With your healing, you should be good to go by dinner time. Now you need to eat to ensure that your strength is replenished.” She says and nods toward Linc, who then grabs the tray of food and sets it on the bed.

There was a frantic knock at the door and a crazy looking Esmorelda rushed in, out of breath.

“I found it. I reached out to a few covens and one of them had a potion that you can take to recover the blocked memories.” She rushes out and holds up a vial of violet potion.

‘Maxwell enters quickly behind her and takes the vial, observing it scrutinizingly. I haven’t had much time to visit with him. He and his wife have been working on recon, trying to find the location of the enemy.

“Is this safe? What are the side effects? You know that it was just yesterday that she almost died right?” He fires at Esmorelda. She rolls her eyes at him and snatches the vial back.

“Yes, I am not stupid Maxwell. What are you even doing back here?” She snaps at him, as he crosses his

arms.

“I heard that Evan was almost killed and came back straight away to check on her.” He says defensively, then turns to look at me. He walks to me and looks me over, once seeing I was okay enough he picks me up and hugs me tightly.

After a minute of us holding each other a throat clears.

“The only effect of the potion is that it unblocks the memories. All of the memories will play out in your mind rapidly, but you will feel like you were there the whole time. In your case, Alpha, the 10 days you lost will feel like 10 days in your minds, but will only be about an hour or two.” Esmorelda states as she hands me the potion. I look at it, not knowing what to do.

“Will it hurt her healing time?” Laughtness says, eyeing the bottle in my

hand.

“Maybe, depending on the memories blocked, it may feel like whatever is happening to her in the memories is happening again. Her body may go into shock and try to heal the wounds that are not really there, causing it to pull the healing from her actual wound.” Esmorelda answers.

“Then we can’t do it until her wound is fully healed.” Maxwell states while Laughness agrees with a nod of her

head.

“We need to do it as soon as possible though. We don’t know when the war will start and that man can’t be able to surprise her with anything. The last two times she was inebriated with the shock of the memories. We can’t have that happen again.” Esmorelda argues and I nod my head in agreement. The other two are not happy, and Linc is staring at us blankly.

“How long does it take to kick in?” Linc finally speaks up, all eyes turning to him.

“About three hours.” Esmorelda answers and he nods his head, then looks at Laughtness.

“If she takes it now, she will have three hours of her body healing the wound. If it is not disturbed, it should be healed enough to withstand anything else. Don’t you think so?” Linc asks Laughtness and she sighs deeply.

“In a perfect reality, yes. But we do not have experience with this, I am worried that it might reopen the wound. “Laughtness says wearily. A ring on my nightstand startles all of us. I grab my phone and am anxious with the name that appears.

“Hello Ingrid. How are you?” I say to Ingrid, who is at the other end of the line.
