The Rogue Alpha and the Werewolf King (by Hailey Kristine) novel Chapter 77

Chapter 77

Evangelina’s POV

After sending the two idiots away I resume training. My stomach burns, but I ignore it and focus on the

training.

Alpha.A smaller woman stops what she is doing and looks at me.

Yes?I ask as her gaze goes down to my shirt. I didn’t realize that the claw mark was that deep. It hasn’t closed yet and is still bleeding.

Oh. Sorry, I didn’t realize.” I say walking away to the small bandaging station. I pulled out some pads and tape, lifted up my shirt and noticed that the part of the claw caught on my healing wound, causing it to rip

open.

Sh*t.I whisper to myself and begin to tape it up.

A wound from a mate doesn’t heal like normal wounds do.Linc says, stepping to the side of me. I look into

his conflicted eyes. I nod my head.

I know.I say as I start for the castle. Linc follows closely behind me. You need to stay for training. I’ll be

fine walking back to the castle.I say and he shakes his head.

No can do. I am going to be by your side until the end of day.He says and I sigh, not fighting him on it. I know he is worried about the memories I will find. Apparently the scars I have on my back and arms are ones that I received during those 10 days. When I showed back up at the Full Moon Pack I was a bloody mess,

according to Linc. Of course I don’t remember any of it.

As we make our way to the castle I feel sweat begin to build on my forehead. This isn’t normal for a small

wound.

As we reach the bottom of the stairs to make our way into the building everything starts to go black and I fall, feeling strong arms catching me before my head hits the ground.

Sh*t.” I hear hissed as I black out fully.

She needs to go into the cells. I have made one up.She rushes past me, running and opening a door hiding in the back of the castle. I follow her into an open cell door that has a full size bed and new blankets on it. There is also a sofa chair in the corner with witch lamp that doesn’t need electricity for it. I set Evan on the

bed.

Why are we in here?I ask Tali, Nali stopping at the entrance of the cell with fluffy pillows.

I saw that she needed to be in here. It’s the only place that will work.” Tali says as she winces, pulling silver cuffs from her pocket and placing them on Evan, then hooks them to the wall. Evan has enough room to move comfortably with the restraints. Nali comes and hands the pillows to Tali, both arranging them to give Evan as much comfort as possible.

What’s going on? It shouldn’t have taken effect for another hour and a half?I hear from behind me. I turn to see Maxwell standing outside the cell door.

Something triggered it to start earlier.Tall says stepping away and looks down at Evan, a look of pain in her eyes. Nali comes and wraps her arms around me, calming my racing heart. I take in her citrusy mint smell.

You all can go, I’ll stay and update you on anything that happens.” Maxwell says, taking a seat in the chair.

We all need to get out of here and close the door. I purposely chose the cell with shatterproof glass.Tali says, pushing me and Nali out of the door, then drags Maxwell out.

NO!I hear screamed as soon as we shut the door. Evan is thrashing in the bed and pulling at the chains. Tears are streaming down her face, and when her eyes open I suck in a breath. Her normally gray eyes are translucent.

That is a sign that the potion is working. She is reliving the blocked memories.” Esmorelda says, stepping up to the side of us, looking into the window.

XAVIER! NO PLEASE. I’ll do anything.Evan says as tears stream down her face. I feel a tear make its way down my face as I realize she is reliving the worst day of my life. The day of the attack. Nali hugs me tighter as she feels the emotional pain I am in through the bond.

This is going to be a rough few hours to watch.

Evangelina’s POV

The blackness begins to fade. I am transported to the Full Moon pack house. The familiar smell of cookies

wafting through the house. I smile as I cradle Ziana in my arms. She is getting too big to hold, but I don’t

care.

Xavier comes walking into the living room with a plate of chocolate chip cookies and sets it on the coffee

table. He joins me on the love seat next to the fireplace and looks over at me, lovingly. His purple eyes shine

bright as he takes in Ziana.

She is going to make one hell of an Alpha. He says as he pats her head. I laugh. She managed to flicker all

the lights in the house when we were trying to get her asleep.

You didn’t think it was cute when the oven stopped baking the cookies.I say and he smirks, picking up a

cookie and taking a bite.

Hey. Nobody comes between me and my cookies. Not you and not our little angel here.He says with his mouth full. I laugh at his antics, but am quickly stopped short with a vision of w es appearing at our forest

line.

I am pulled out of the vision as he looks at me worriedly.

Get everybody to safety. Now. We are..I am interrupted by our sirens going off. He jumps up and looks at

  1. me.

Get her to safety, I’ll see you out there my love.” He says kissing the top of Ziana’s head, then kisses me and

rushes out of the door.

I quickly get up and rush through the pack house, finding the safe room with some of our members already in

  1. it. Ziana is up by now and is crying.

Shh Shh. It’s okay baby. Mommy will be right back.I say, handing her to one of the elders. I ran up the

hidden stairs and outside. The sight that greets me is blood.

Wolves are being thrown by wind elements, I feel pack link after pack link snap. There are too many of them.

At least 500 wolves in our territory are enemy wolves.

I rush into battle, not thinking. I shift into Veena and begin plowing enemy after enemy. I don’t have time to register that we are losing until I feel the packlink snap for my father, making me sputter to a halt, looking around A good three quarters of our pack is dead. I feel a knee in my back as I am pushed to the ground.

Shift if you want to live.A voice echoes around me. I shift, covered in blood and mud. Silver cuffs get put on my wrists.
