The Rogue Alpha and the Werewolf King (by Hailey Kristine) novel Chapter 80

Evangelina’s POV (Still in the memories)

The next morning I feel a surge of energy and my brain feels like it is going to explode. After what seems like eternity, the pain eases and I become more aware. Almost like I am sensing everything for the first time. A

click down the hall and footsteps to follow tells me that somebody is coming this way.

The footsteps stop outside my door and the lock clicks open. Franklin cornes in with his sadistic smile on his

face.

A little birdy told me that you are going to try and leave today. He says, pointing to his head.

It’s not healthy to have a voice in your head that you listen to. Maybe you should get that checked.” I say and his eyes open in shock at the retort, then he starts to laugh maniacally. He marches up to me and grabs my

chin, digging through my brain and muddying things up.

You will not leave. And if you somehow do, you will not remember anything that has happened here.He says, shoving my face to the side. I feel like my head has had his nasty fingers in it, but other than that I feel fine. The knowledge that I have to leave turns my body on autopilot.

I feel his hand on me, caressing me. When he moves right in front of me to raise my ratty shirt up I take my opportunity. Raising my foot and kicking him in the groin, pulling on the chains that bind me to break free from the wall, surprisingly I have the strength to do so. When they pull from the wall, I take the two cuffs that are bound together by a chain and wrap it around his neck, suffocating him. I hear shouts in the distance and feet stomping towards us. Franklin is struggling to break free of the chain around his neck, and when his movements slow, I release the hold and push him to the floor.

I punch him in the face for good measure, ensuring that he is out cold and running down the hallway, only to

find that there are about 5 people in it, with weapons.

I go to use my new gifts, but with the silver cuffs on they don’t work and the only thing I can manage is a small spark for the electricity. Then knowledge of different combat routines comes to the forefront of my mind and in no time I am rushing towards the people.

I receive multiple wounds due to the fact a lot of the moves were a trial and error type thing, but then I reach and grab a sword. The knowledge on how to use it comes up again and I plow through the rest of the people. When I reach outside of the building, I realize that it is set up like a compound. 1 larger building which I was in and smaller ones surrounding it. Then outlining the area was a fence that s med electric, with barbed

wire on the top.

Not pausing to think of what I should do, I ran to the opening of the fence, without looking around, There are not many people here, which gives me a good chance at getting out.

I race across the opening in the fence and a few guards try to stop me, but I quickly knock them out and continue running. After about 4 hours of running I stop at the border of my packlands. How I knew the way here was beyond me and how I stayed in good condition long enough I don’t understand. But as I cross the border I pass out from exhaustion. As if my mind is slammed into a brick wall, my head begins to hurt, memories begin to appear and disappear from the last week.

Almost like bringing up a file on a computer, looking at it and deleting it. After my mind stopped deleting

memories I went back into the darkness.

I woke to Lincoln holding my hand. His tired face is a sad one.

You’re up. He states.

Tam. I say and he smiles sadly.

How did you get here? What happened? He asks. I open my mouth to answer, but come up short. Everything

is blank.

  1. I don’t know.I answer and he looks at me in confusion.

What is the last thing that you remember? He asks.

The attack. Zavier. Being taken somewhere, the pain while there.I gasped. They killed Ziana.” I mutter as a tear makes its way down my face. Linc brings me in for a hug and holds me for goddess knows how long as I ball. I eventually pull away and look into his sad eyes.

“We need to pack up and move. There is work to do.I say as I pull myself together and get up. I don’t

remember what exactly happened the past 10 days, but I remember that the moon goddess gave me this knowledge and power. I remember that I am her hand in this world, and if I do not listen I could die. So I will

buck up and listen, for the good of the world. I can’t seem to remember anything else, but this new purpose I

feel has given me drive. I will do what needs to be done.

Lincoln looks at me with concern, but ultimately nods his head, allowing me to take the lead on what needs

to come next.

Present time

I gasp for breath and I open my eyes. I am adjusting to the light, but it feels as if I am chained. My breathing

picks up as panic seeps in, then I realize what happened. I relived the memories from the past and I am in a

somewhat safe space. Until I feel the sparks shoot up my arm and hear the cuffs clink against the wall.

1 quickly look over to see Warrick standing beside me, reaching over to uncuff my other wrist. As I look at him
