Chapter 81
Warrick’s POV
I watch as Evan leaves the room, holding back the anger I feel. Not for her, I deserve more than the resentment she throws at me. The anger that I have is for myself and for the person who poisoned me.
While in the cell I learned that Evan took some potion that allowed her to reveal blocked memories. Nobody would give me the reason she needed to do this, or what memories she was reliving that made her scream, something from horror movies.
When I asked who Xavier was, nobody answered me. Nobody gave me any information other than she will be okay and is just reliving the memories. My mother came in at one point to tell me that her and Jaxon were leaving to look into our poisoning.
After that I just sat in the cell, listening to screams and whimpers from Evan. Occasionally Linc would leave the cell, or Nali would come in to comfort him.
I have observed Linc and although I can clearly tell that he is absolutely in love with my sister, I still don’t know what his relationship is with Evan and it bugs me. Most Alpha’s are close with their Beta’s, but not as close as those two. I can honestly say that they may even seem closer than me and Jaxon, which is bothersome to say the least. But I guess from my own stupidity for the past few years, it is clear that I am not as close to the people I used to be, family included.
“Brother, you need to go eat something. It is well past dinner time.” A voice says, breaking me out of my trance. It’s Tali, her dark gray eyes are filled with concern. I nod my head and begin to walk out of the cell.
“We were in there for that long?” I ask and I see her nod her head.
“Esmorelda says that the time differs for each situation. Apparently Evan’s memories were a little harder to break through due to there being more detail to them.” She says and I nod my head even though I still don’t understand what happened fully.
“And she needed to do that because?” I ask, glancing over at Tali while she smirks up at me.
“Oh no. Don’t think that I am telling you that. Even if I knew fully, it wouldn’t be my place to tell you.” She says
and I sigh again.
“You’re right. I’m sorry.” I say as she stops and I turn back to her. Her eyes are wid
nd mouth agape.
“You. You apologized?.. Who are you and what have you done with my brother?” She asks while placing her
hand on her hips and raising one eyebrow
“Haha very funny.” I deadpan and she laughs. It has been so long since I have made her laugh that it makes
me smile.
She continues walking, me following beside her in comfortable silence.
“You know.. I have missed you.” She says quietly and I frown.
“I have always been right here.” I state and she shakes her head.
“No. I miss the old you. The one who used to make me laugh and smile even when I didn’t want to.” She says, looking at me with sad eyes. I hurt her, everybody really.

know, I am sony, Tall. If I could take it back I would.” I say truthfully and she smiles
Another apology. Oh my I am just racking them up. Let’s see what else I can” She starts, but is interrupted by a shriek.
Wary! Where have you been? I have been looking all over for you!” Hadley screeches while running toward me. 1 fight back the cringe of her. Her once beautiful green eyes and pouty lips make me almost sick.
“I’ve been busy.” I grunt as she literally shoulders Tali away from me and hangs off my arm. Running her hand up my arm to my chest, I shudder under her touch, while trying to hold Viggo back.
1 glare at her hand while pinching it between my two fingers to get it off my chest. As I back away from her she looks at me in confusion.
“What’s wrong baby?” She asks and I shake my head at her concern.
“It’s been a long day and I need to eat.” I say walking toward the smaller kitchen.
“But..” She starts and I can’t contain the growl that slips from me as I turn around to face her.
“Leave Hadley. I wish to be alone.” I all but growl and she flinches, but doesn’t move.
“But baby I can.” She says, walking closer to me as I growl again.
“Leave.” I definitely growl this time and she looks down and stomps away.
I sigh, turning back and heading in the kitchen. I grab some leftover ham that is in the fridge and begin to heat it when Tali comes through the doors and gives me an eyebrow.
“What?” I ask and she shakes her head at me.
“You know you’ll need to get rid of that tramp right?” She asks and my mouth gapes at her.
“Why would I do that?” I ask, trying to get her to tell me what she knows. She rolls her eyes at me but walks
closer anyway.
“I know that you want proof of who had been poisoning you. I spoke with Nali and she said to look in your nightstand.” She says, and my eyes open wide. I am about to ask her what that means when a bang comes
from the door behind us.
“Tali, honey” Marie says as she walks straight to Tali and wraps her arms around Tali’s waist breathing in her
scent. I am surprised by the action. I haven’t seen Marie so.. I don’t know the word. Needy. Maybe.
After Marie seems to calm down I see her back stiffen, her purple eyes turning
squeezes Marie’s hand, gaining her attention.
narrowing on me. Tali
“I will meet you in our room in a few. Okay?” She asks and Marie huffs, but nods her head and kisses Tali
before whispering I love you to her. Tali smiles and says it back and Marie turns to leave. Before she walks
completely out of the door she gives me a disgusted look before slamming the door behind her. I huff and
look at Tali whose face is scrunched in my direction.
“So.. I don’t think she likes me top much.” I state, then take a bite of my sandwich.
“No she doesn’t.” Tali answers honestly, making me choke on the ham and cheese sandwich between my.
teeth. I am still not used to her speaking so much.
“Why not?” I managed to get out. She sighs and I see her eyes turn sad.

We falled her. She aaya and I crinkle my eyebrows in confusion. She must see the confusion on my face because she explains. “Her pack was attacked and they requested help. We sent the help too late and when hey got there, after the attack, they just left. Almost as soon as they left another attack happened. That’s when Evan came and helped them. Marie decided to go with Evan and become part of her pack. The small number of pack members left followed Marie, who became Alpha during the attack.” She explains. I suck in a breath at the information.
Holy sh*t. We did fail her. I don’t blame her for hating me either.
