Chapter 91
Evangelina’s POV
We have been interrogating people for the last 2 days. Warrick has been in and out of the room and has been grovelling. So far my room and office are filled with flowers and little letters. He has made a cake for me, which wasn’t the best. Adn this morning he made me breakfast, which was much better than the cake. Even though we have both been busy, he has still sat with me for breakfast and brought me lunch and dinner since we have been either in the office or interrogation room. I walk out of the interrogation room, I feel the tiredness wash over me.
“How’s it going?” I hear and then stumble from a shoulder bump.
“Fine.” I grumble, looking at Henry. His blue eyes sparkling with mischief.
“Damn, you look tired.” He says, whistling then looking me up and down.
“Yeah.” i say, running a hand through my hair.
“You done for the night? I know I am. Those interrogations were rough.” He says, as he winces.
“Yea I am done. I made sure that they were all done before I came up.” I answer and he links his arm through
mine.
“Good because there is still some leftover steak that has our names on it.” He says as he steers me through the halls to our pack dinning room.
When we enter the room quiets and everybody turns to look at me and Henry. It’s a good mixture of Royal and Rogue packs sitting in the room. I nod my head to them and make my way to the serving table. Once Henry and I fill our plates we head to the big table. There are only two seats open, one next to Tali, and one next to. I pause. Warrick? As much as I have gotten used to him near me over the past couple days, it’s weird to see him in this atmosphere.
Henry stops and turns back to look at me.
“You coming?” He asks and I nod my head to follow. Henry takes the seat next to Tali, giving me a sly smirk as I make my way around to the seat next to Warrick.
Before I am able to reach for the chair, Warriick stands and pulls it out for me. I give him a questioning look, but take a seat anyway.
Whispers start up around the room. All different variations of the same thing. Me and Warrick being mates. “How was the rest of your day?” He asks me as I take a bite of the steak. He chuckles, and it makes my heart skip a beat. “Sorry. Didn’t mean to ask you right when you were taking a bite.” He apologizes. I smile, and continue chewing.
“It was.. Long.” I answer and he laughs.
“Well. That is one way to put it.” He says smirking at me. Goddess help me. That smirk and his laugh are getting to me. I just nod and continue eating, trying NOT to pay attention to the fact that he is still wearing the suit without the jacket from this morning. His sleeves are rolled up and I look away before I embarrass myself further.

Veena, stop drooling over him.” I chastise and she laughs at me.
“Not, just me honey. That was all you.” She retorts and I have to fight the urge to smack my head against the
table.
“We made progress on the info board. Even came up with a few different strategies. I can talk to you about them after dinner if you would like.” He says and I nod, again.
“Sure.” i say, forcing a smile.
“So I heard that you two are mates. It’s about time you met your match Alpha.” Mason interjects. I scowl at him as the table, including Warrick, laughs.
“You’re just relieved that you won’t have to spar with her anymore.” Henry says.
“You think I’m scared of a little one on one with the Alpha?” Mason asks Henry.
“I think you’re terrified. You nearly pi*s yourself when you two are called to spar together.” Henry argues and Mason barks out a laugh.
“Terrified is a strong, but accurate word. I’m not ashamed to admit that she kicks my a*s. I’m just relieved that it won’t happen anymore.” Mason says as I scrunch my brows.
“Who says I won’t still kick your a*s, Mason?” I ask him and he eyes me warily.
“Well because you can finally spar against somebody on the same level as you. You know. Even the playing field.” He says. Warrick chuckles and leans down closer to me.
“Don’t worry, little wolf, I’ll take it easy on you.” Warrick says, lowly. It may have sent a bolt of pleasure to my core, but I still bite my tongue in annoyance.
“Oh shut up. I’ve seen you spar. I’ll wipe the field with your a*s.” I retort as he growls.
“0000000 Sounds like a challenge.” Mason interjects. Warrick stares at me, while I stare right back at him.
I think we ought to go now and settle the score.” Mason states again, making me stand up and scrape the legs of the chair on the ground.
Warrick’s eyes get wider.
“What are you doing?” Warrick asks me.
“Let’s go.” I say as I turn to walk out.
“I wasn’t even the one that challenged you.” Warrick argues as I hear his chair scrape against the floor and him cursing behind me.
“Well, I’m irritated now, and need to take it out on somebody. Let’s go.” I say, making my way to the training
field.
“Who does he think he is, saying he will go easy on us?” Veena growls in my head. I feel her irritation at the comment, it outweighs the excitement of being touched by our mate. Albeit a little, but it still counts
I stop in the middle of the field and turn around. As soon as I see the one eyebrow raised from Warrrick, almost as if to ask what I am waiting for, I know this was a good decision. As*hole really thinks he can take
The sky opens up and starts raining down on us. Not pouring, but enough to dampen my clothes already.
