The Rogue Alpha and the Werewolf King (by Hailey Kristine) novel Chapter 94

Chapter94

Warrick’s POV

Ooookay.I say when she doesn’t continue. She holds my eye contact, her gray eyes holding her seriousness, but also putting me at ease.

I know a siren. She says and my eyebrows shoot up.

Didn’t you just tell me that they are very aggressive and territorial? How did you even meet this siren? How can you trust them? How would they even give us an advantage?I start asking, she interrupts me by holding up her hand.

This siren was kicked out of the clan when she couldn’t destroy the boats that trespassed through their waters. She didn’t think it was right to kill innocent people for crossing their border when they didn’t know and weren’t harming anything. But when they kicked her out she kind of lost it, and went on a killing rampage on land. Sirens are kind of like wolves, without their clan they turn rabbid and dangerous.” She explains and my mouth opens before she can finish explaining anything.

So you want to invite a crazed siren that kills anybody they see into this war where we will have a hard enough time focusing on our enemy, let alone worry about one of ours turning on us.I say in disbelief and she shakes her head at my words.

It’s not like that. Sirena and I have an agreement. I let her live in peace at a swamp that is next to my pack. I bring her food and clothes and anything else she may need. She is actually one of our IT people.” She says and I try not to, but fail and snort at the name.

A siren named Sirena.I say and see the daggers that Evan shoots me and shut my mouth. Whoops.

So if she is so accommodating then why is it risky?I ask, getting back on topic and she sighs,

“Well, because Sirena is a bit fragile, and I am afraid that the stress of war may cause her to lose control and just go for both sides. She answers honestly.

Then we can’t risk it.I say, definitively.

I normally wouldn’t suggest it, but Warrick, did you see them? They have their sh*t figured out. I don’t know how they have so many teleporters, but they do. AND there is no telling what they can do with the dark magic they have been using. I mean, giving somebody the power to see the future, more than just goddess granted, and having the ability to manipulate minds of the dead, there is no telling what else just Franklin can do, let alone anybody else on the opposing side. She explains and I sigh. She is right, we need all of the advantages

we can get.

So why do you think we need this siren? What can she bring that is so special to risk her turning on us?I ask. I need to know before I completely agree.

to

Well she has the ability to control water, very strong and fast, has razor sharp teeth and claws when shifted. The biggest reason she is an advantage is because she can direct her siren’s call to people and call t her. Her call will either drive them crazy and they will kill themselves or they will do as she commands. She could control their minds, essentially. She can kill them, make them kill each other, turn on their team, anything really. She explains and my eyes widen in slight fear.

Mind control?I ask and she nods her head.

Yes, but it only works for weaker beings who don’t have a good grasp on their mind.” She assures me and I close my eyes, raking my hand through my hair. This would be a great advantage, IF she doesn’t turn on us.

Very risky.

We need to have a way to quickly subdue her if she turns on us. If we can’t figure that out then we can’t risk it.I answer after a few moments of thinking. I open my eyes to see her smiling up at me.

Easy, electricity. Pair her up with a strong minded electric wolf and if she starts getting out of hand have the person send enough volts to subdue her.She answers without thinking. I have a feeling that she was going to do this whether I agreed or not.

Great. I am going to get Dalya and talk to Sirena. This is all depending on if she agrees or not.She answers and before I can say anything Dalya appears in the room, ready for battle. Come to think of it, I don’t think I have ever seen the red head without the black get up and weapons.

Alpha. She bows to Evan, who simply smiles at her.

Dalya, I need you to take me to Sirena.Evan says and Dalya nods, reaching for Evan.

Wait. I am coming with you.I say. Dalya pauses and Evan turns her head toward me scowling.

I don’t need you to come with me.Evan argues and I shake my head, linking my arm through hers. It’s not about whether you need me or not. I am coming with you so I know who you are bringing into the kingdom. AND to ensure that you are not sugar coating her state of mind.I argue. She narrows her eyes at me, but then huffs in annoyance and turns her attention back to Dalya who is just waiting patiently. Let’s go.Evan grumbles. Dalya grabs Evan’s arm and in the next moment we are in a thick, humid forest. We walk for a few minutes, sweat building and starting to show through my shirt. I probably should have asked about changing first. The black slacks and light blue button down aren’t the first choice for out here. At first I feel like we are just walking in circles, but then I hear a slight humming. After another minute the humming turns into the most beautiful sound I have ever heard. Evan grabs my hand as if she is afraid that I might wander off. I look at her in question and she eyes me warily.

Siren’s call.” She says, lowly and my eyes widen in response. No wonder it could drive people mad. It’s the most enchanting thing I have ever heard.

After another few minutes we reached a small lake with a pier. A cottage is settled along the beach of the lake and there looks to be a large garden to the side of the cottage.

We continue walking toward the house, the call getting louder. It’s getting very hard not to go into the lake. That is where the sound is coming from, I just know it. It’s calling me, begging me to come find it, but Evan’s hold on my hand won’t let me.

All of a sudden the call stops.

Alpha.I hear from behind us and turn around quickly, keeping Evan behind me. I feel the light pat arm, but don’t move. The naked creature in front of me, keeps me rooted in place.
