Solomon said, "Back straight, legs out."
Lillian shot him a death glare. Two steps in, she was panting.
Guys jogging nearby cheered, "Come on. You've got this."
Lillian sulked. She didn't like running at all.
The PE teacher scratched his head, wondering how to give her a pass. After all, her mother was on the board.
As Lillian slowed to a crawl, Solomon swooped in, hoisted her over his shoulder, and bolted.
"Hey, what are you doing? Put me down!" she shrieked.
He hauled her 100 meters in no time. A girl on the sidelines gawked. "Uh, is that cheating?"
The teacher ducked his head, muttering, "Her mom is a director."
Lillian yelped as Solomon dumped her onto a mat after the 800.
She rubbed her butt. "You didn't have to do that. The teacher wouldn't care."
"You're spoiled rotten," he said.
