Goodbye, Mr. Ex: I've Remarried Mr. Right novel Chapter 1835

Drake's casual flex drew a crowd.

Everyone wondered if the school was recruiting ballers now.

"Man, you're good," one yelped.

"Name your dinner. I'm paying," another echoed.

They rushed him, sweaty and hyped, piling on like he'd won a championship. Drake dodged, but they were relentless, all bro-hugs and cheers.

By nine p.m., he was wiped. These kids had endless energy, alive in a way he'd forgotten.

He crashed in the dorm, expecting to wake up from the dream. But when he opened his eyes, he was still at school. His roommates were snoring like chainsaws.

It was eight a.m., but nobody stirred.

'No classes?' he wondered.

The locked gate didn't stop Drake. One kick, and it gave.

He stepped onto the roof, welcomed by the howling wind. Unperturbed, he walked to the edge and crouched. There he eyed the drop, wondering if it was high enough to jolt him awake.

"Don't do it!" Debra's voice rang out. "Whatever it is, come down and talk."

Drake glanced back, knowing Debra in the real world would never say anything like that. She'd just kick him in the spine and snort, "Quit faking it."
