Goodbye, Mr. Ex: I've Remarried Mr. Right novel Chapter 1859

Andrew glanced at Debra in his arms. She was oblivious, staring at him with her clear, bright eyes.

It didn't seem so bad.

One day, he sat by the window reading. The baby crawled out of her crib and stared at him.

"Hungry?" he asked.

She babbled, trying to say something but not quite getting there.

He set his book down to prepare the milk. Then Debra squeaked out, "Buh-buh!"

It sounded hard for her. Andrew froze, unsure. "What?"

"Buh-buh!" she said, louder.

"Brother?" he tried.

"Buh-buh!" Her voice was clearer now.

Something melted in Andrew's heart. He grinned, pinching her chubby cheek. "It's brother."

"Buh-buh!" She still couldn't nail it.

But Andrew was thrilled that she could talk now.

He called Debra's parents. They dropped everything, braving freezing winds to rush to the Potter Mansion.

Lori yelped, "She bites?"

"She's probably teething," Andrew said, rocking Debra until she calmed.

Lori sighed. Sure enough, lazy parents didn't get to reap the rewards.

After they left, Andrew tucked Debra in as usual.

She loved bedtime stories. They lulled her to sleep, keeping her peaceful all night.

That night, he picked up a fairy tale book, reading her stories of princesses and princes.
