Goodbye, Mr. Ex: I've Remarried Mr. Right novel Chapter 1868

"Last night..." Debra started.

Andrew bent down to slip her shoes onto her bare feet. "Told you a million times. No running around barefoot."

"It's fine. The floor's warm." She shrugged.

The Potter Mansion hadn't had underfloor heating until Andrew installed it because she kept going barefoot. It was meant to keep her from catching colds, but now she skipped shoes even more.

"Were you with me last night?" she asked, swinging his arm happily. "I knew you'd never leave me hanging."

"I was busy with an international meeting last night," he said, tapping her forehead. "Don't pull that stunt again."

"Ow." Debra rubbed her head. "But I felt you right there."

He stayed quiet, and she stepped back, keeping some distance.

Erica had said they were too close. That closeness made it hard to tell if her feelings for Andrew were familial or romantic. Andrew was just perfect in everyone's eyes.

She studied him again. He was tall and upright, radiating a quiet strength that made her feel safe.

Debra remembered a girl who swore she'd marry Andrew after meeting him. She chased him for 99 days, only to leave with a broken heart. She never returned to Seamar City.

Rumors had it that Andrew scared her off, but no one knew how.

There were other stories, like tycoons offering huge deals to marry into the Potters or girls chasing Andrew to his office just for a glance.

He was always polite and gentlemanly, but he kept his distance.

Eventually, no one dared approach him. They went for Jordan instead.
