"What kind of rumors?" Lillian asked.

"He ran the show overseas. The police and the crooks all gave him respect. That was before he met your mom," Jordan replied. "To win her heart, he scrubbed his dark past clean. But his legend of wiping out the docks still floats around. Your mom never knew how ruthless he was. He set a good example for all men."

Lillian pondered. "I've never seen him throw a punch."

"Seamar City's calm now. He has got no chance, Jordan said, ruffling her hair. "Want the real scoop? Ask Juan."

"Why him?" Lillian frowned.

"These two were rivals in love. I bet he did enough investigations."

Lillian's eyes lit up, and she headed toward Juan, who was drinking nearby.

Solomon grabbed her. "What are you up to again?"

"I want my dad's stories." She swatted his hand. "Don't you?"

Of course, he wanted that. He had idolized Marion forever, but he was born 20 years too late, missing Marion's overseas glory days.

Juan checked his watch, stubbed out his cigarette, and stood up. "Got a board meeting tomorrow. I'm out."

Debra noticed he was alone. "You can't drive like that. Stay here for the night."

Drake watched them leave. "Is Lillian dating that kid?"

"Solomon and Lillian?" Debra frowned. "No way."

"He has got a thing for her," Drake said sharply. "I can't be wrong."

Debra smirked, "An old bachelor can tell that?"

"Ask Marion. Guys know guys," he said.
