Amber pouted, her hair wiggling as she grumbled, “No way I was coming back with her. Her bike is so ugly, it’s totally embarrassing! And you have no idea how bad her temper is. Sienna, doesn’t the school have dorms? Can you please make her stay there instead?”
Winifred leaned against the doorway, looking as carefree as ever. “I could hear some idiot badmouthing me from a mile away.”
“Who are you calling an idiot?” Amber snapped, puffing up in anger as she glared daggers at Winifred.
Winifred replied lazily, “If you think I’m talking about you, then I probably am. At least you know yourself well.”
“Winifred, you’re so freaking annoying!” Amber yelled.
“Look who’s talking,” Winifred shot back without missing a beat.
Sienna watched as the two kept bickering, until Amber finally lost the battle–pouting and teary–eyed, she ran over to Sienna to complain.
“Sienna, Winifred is such a pain! I can’t stand her–she’s the absolute worst! Sienna, can I sleep with you tonight, please?” Amber pouted, looking all pitiful as she clung to her.
Amber gave her a gentle, doting smile. “Of course.”
Winifred shot Amber a look of utter disdain. ‘Seriously? How old is she now, still acting all cutesy and clingy? What, is she gonna die if she sleeps alone? So extra, so fake.
“What a childish idiot. She’s just hopeless.
Almost eighteen and she still needs someone to sleep with her?
If I were her, I’d be mortified. Heck, I’m embarrassed for her!‘
Winifred herself couldn’t stand sharing a bed with anyone. Just the thought of it was annoying as hell.
Seeing Winifred standing there quietly by herself, Sienna asked, “Winifred; do you want to come with us too?”
Without even thinking, Winifred blurted out, “Yeah.”
Amber shot her a look. “Sienna, I’m not used to sharing a bed with people who aren’t family.”
Winifred snorted. “Good, because I’ve never had the habit of sleeping with idiots. So just go back to your own room.”
Amber stomped her foot, gritting her teeth in frustration. “Winifred, you should go back to your own room instead!”
“Just because you say so? Who put you in charge?” Winifred shot back, a taunting grin on her face.
Her eyes flashed with contempt and scorn, which only made Amber even angrier–her ahoge practically stood on end in fury.
Amber practically shouted, “Winifred!”
At the Winslow family estate, Thorn sat in his wheelchair, eyes sharp and calculating. “So, have you made up your mind? If this final move works, your family will shoot straight to the top, and the Hart Corporation will be completely crushed beneath your feet.”
“Alright, Mr. Now, I’ll work with you. But there’s something I don’t get. As far as I know, you don’t have any grudge against the Hart Corporation, so why are you targeting Sienne?” Henry locked at the man with striking features in front of him, clearly puzzled.
Thorn chuckled. “I might have a grudge against her, or I might not. That’s not something you need to worry about, Mr. Winslow. My only condition is that

you can’t hurt Sienna.”
Henry couldn’t help but ask, “Do you have some kind of relationship with Sienna?”
Thorn’s lips curled into a sly, almost affectionate smile. “She’s my wife.”
Henry nearly spat out his drink, coughing and gasping for air. ‘His wife? Is he pulling my leg?‘
“Relax, I was just joking, Mr. Winslow. No need to get so worked up,” Thorn said with a smirk.
“Mr. Noir, that was really creepy. Please, don’t joke around like that again–my heart can’t take it,” Henry said, still trying to catch his breath.
