Winifred walked into Sienna’s room but didn’t see her anywhere. She could hear the water running in the bathroom–Sienna was probably taking a shower.
Outside the door, Amber was on edge, practically fuming with anger.
She shouted, “Open up! Winifred, you wicked woman! I haven’t even gone in yet–let me in!”
Hearing the noise, Sienna came out of the bathroom, towel in hand, as she dried her hair. Winifred was dressed in plain black pajamas, her straight, jet black hair draped over her shoulders. Her face was expressionless, her eyes gloomy.
“Hey, Winifred,” Sienna said.
“Hey.” Winifred nodded.
Sienna was sure she heard someone knocking just now, but now everything was quiet.
“Sis, let me help you dry your hair. You still have wounds on your back,” Winifred said, not taking no for an answer as she grabbed the hair dryer and walked over.
“Sure.” Sienna nodded.
Sienna sat down, and Winifred swallowed hard. Seeing Sienna settle in, she nervously clutched the hair dryer, reminding herself to be gentle and make sure the air was warm enough.
The sound of the hair dryer was soft, but the whooshing of the air still sounded a bit jarring in the otherwise quiet room.
Winifred’s heart pounded as the air filled with Sienna’s subtle fragrance, soothing and intoxicating. Her fingertips threaded through Sienna’s hair, and she found herself slowly losing focus, almost drifting away in the moment.
Outside the door, Amber’s eyes were red with anger. She sniffled, lips pouting as tears rolled down her cheeks. She gave a little shudder, feeling both wronged and furious.
‘Winifred, that awful woman,‘ she thought, ‘she’s just the absolute worst!‘
Once Sienna’s hair was dry, she finally asked, “Amber’s not here?”
Winifred, still wearing a cold expression, put away the hair dryer. “She’s right outside.”
“What?” Sienna blinked in shock, quickly got up, and opened the door–only to see Amber crouched by the doorway, her face red and streaked with
tears.
Amber looked up with tear–filled eyes–it was Sienna standing there.
“Sienna…” Amber wailed, flinging herself into Sienna’s arms and bawling her heart out.
“There, there. Why were you crouching by the door?” Sienna asked gently.
Suddenly, Sienna remembered–Amber was the one knocking on the door earlier. She glanced back and saw Winifred already lying in bed, lo nothing had happened.
Sienna let out a helpless sigh.

“It’s all her fault! Sienna, Winifred’s the one who locked me out! Sienna, can you please make her leave? I really don’t want to be with her,” Amber cried, her voice full of grievance.
“No. She’s your sister, too. Winifred, apologize to Amber,” Sienna said, her tone gentle but leaving no room for argument.

Chapter 181
A mischievous glint flashed in Winifred’s eyes. “Sorry,” she said, her voice flat. As Amber looked over, Winifred mouthed another word ather flo deliberate, but without a sound-“Idiot.”
Amber wiped away her tears, marched straight over to the bed, and lay down right on Winifred’s right side, scooting her over without a care.
“Amber, are you looking for trouble or what?” Winifred gritted her teeth, feeling Amber’s butt constantly bumping into her. She couldn’t help but wonder ‘Does she really think I’m just gonna put up with this?‘
