Josef’s eyes, full of despair, suddenly snapped open. ‘It was Sienna! Mom!‘ he thought, his heart pounding with relief.

‘Wait, I’m not dead yet,‘ he thought to himself in surprise.

“Sienna!” Josef bawled, tears and snot streaming down his face as he crawled toward her, rubbing his face against the ground like a lost child.

Sienna stepped up to check on Josef’s condition. With just a look from her, Reno pressed his knife right up against Leo’s

throat.

“The antidote,” Sienna demanded coldly. Leo didn’t even get a chance to ask who they were. He could feel death’s grip tightening around his neck.

Leo’s eyes went wide with terror as he swallowed hard. “You… Who are you people? What antidote? I have no idea what you’re talking about! Let me go! I’m Leo…”

“Ah!” Before he could finish, Reno stabbed his knife right through Leo’s palm, not hesitating for a second. Blood gushed

out instantly.

Leo screamed in agony, sweat pouring down his face, his mind reeling from the pain. He was so scared now, he didn’t even

dare to move a muscle.

He quickly shouted, “It’s in my pocket! The antidote is in my pocket! Let me go, please.”

Reno Lynch fished a syringe out of Leo’s pocket and handed it over to Sienna.

“Thank you, Sienna. If you hadn’t shown up today, I’d be dead meat.” Josef blubbered, his voice choked with tears.

He scrambled up, wiping his face with his sleeve, snot and tears everywhere. Man, it felt amazing to be alive after all that He’d actually survived.

Even as a grown man, he couldn’t handle things as well as Winifred, crying his eyes out, face all red and scrunched up, gasping for air. Honestly, he looked kind of pitiful… and, weirdly enough, a little cute.
