Josef opened his mouth to say more, but Sienna was already striding away. He couldn’t help but stare at Sienna’s long, slender legs, his heart swelling with admiration. She was stunning, cool, and powerful.
‘One day, I’m going to find a wife as incredible as Sienna,‘ he swore to himself.
“Wait up, Sienna! Are we seriously letting that guy off? I can’t swallow this. I mean, he almost killed me!” he called after her.
Sienna got into the car, her expression indifferent as she shot a casual glance at his face, which flushed with anger.
“Let him strut around a bit longer. Tonight, you’ll get front row seats to some real drama, and then he’ll pay the price,” she
said.
Her words instantly sparked Josef’s curiosity. His frustration dissolved, replaced by bubbling anticipation.
“What kind of show? You’ve got something planned, right?” he asked, eyes gleaming.
Sienna cleared her throat and crooked her finger. When Josef leaned closer, she whispered her plan.
Josef clapped his hands in glee, grinning widely. “Sienna, you’re brilliant as always! If that bastard can’t cough up what he promised tonight, let’s see how he tries to wriggle out of this. He’s finally going to get a taste of his own medicine!”
Sienna’s gaze flicked to the muddy shoe print still smeared across his cheek. She handed him another handkerchief. “Here. Wipe that off. You look funny.”
On her way home from school, Winifred noticed someone tailing her. It was just as she expected, and a sly smile curled at the corner of her lips. ‘They think they can catch someone like me? Dream on,‘ she scoffed inwardly.
Acting like nothing was wrong, she lured them into a secluded alley. It had been days since she’d had a proper fight. The thought of beating the arrogance out of these lackeys–and sending them crawling back to Iris–sent a flicker of excitement through her veins.
Elsewhere, Iris was absolutely livid when she heard that Winifred had called her a “crazy bitch” and a “useless quack“, even daring her to come over and settle things face to face.
‘Useless! Useless!‘ she cursed at her subordinates in her mind.
