Chapter 267
Sienna shifted aside. Thorn, do you seriously have nothing better to do than hovering around me all day? I wouldn’t mind shipping you off to Zambea to dig for gold.”
“Only if you come with me.
The sound of two crisp slaps rang gour, and Thorn got booted right out the door with bright red handprints on his cheeks. Everyone outside sucked in a sharp breath, almost feeling that hurt.
Thorn shot them a glare and strutted away. But when he ran into Finn downstairs, he stopped and warned, “Whatever’s going on between you two, from now on, keep your distance from her
Finn noticed the red handprints on Thorn’s face and he started to suspect that maybe their relationship wasn’t what he had imagined.
“Who are you to warn me?” Finn asked.
Finn might look all gentle and refined, but actually he was the hardest to deal with, because one could never see through that calm, polished mask.
As Thorn glared at that annoyingly perfect face, something dark and twisted curled up inside him. “She’s been by my side for ten years. So, you tell me what do you think I am?”
The suspicion had turned into a confirmed move. Finn’s hand tightened behind his back, and he lowered his gaze, quietly swallowing the pain inside.
Thorn walked off with a smug grin, even though deep down he knew he was just lying to himself. He could tell this guy was trouble–the way Sienna spoke to him, Thorn had never heard her talk to anyone else like that before.
Thorn could pretty much guess–this was her first love, the only man who’d ever really left a mark on her life.
He just couldn’t accept it. Sienna’s whole expression changed when this man showed up, but he had been by her side for ten years. However, he never even meant anything to her.
What gives him the right to just show up for a moment and turn her whole world upside down? Thorn fumed inwardly.
Evan glanced at Thorn, wavering over whether to do something.
“It’s fine. Just take the money up to her. We need to get going”
Finns lonely figure made Evan’s heart ache. That girl must be the one Mr. Eaton has been carrying a torch for all these years, but it looks like she already has someone in her life, he thought
There was no way Finn’d ever come between a couple. He could only swallow it all, and bear the pain alone.
“Poor Mr. Eaton. Twenty–eight years old and still single. He just still hasn’t moved on, Thorn thought to himself.
“Miss, Mr. Eaton said he doesn’t have any cash on him right now. Please take a look at these–if you like any of them, you can have them. Or he can swap it for something else, or just pay you back later if you prefer, Evan said carefully.
Sienna looked at the three items laid out before her: a jade necklace, a calligraphy scroll, and a piece of pitch–black jade. Just the jade necklace alone was worth well over twenty million.
She picked up the calligraphy scroll. “Just one will do.”
Evan knew perfectly well that these were all priceless treasures, and Mr. Eaton just handed them over to her without even blinking. That alone said everything about how important Sienna was to him.
“Miss, Mr. Eaton insisted you have them all If you don’t take them, I’ll be punished.”
“Alright, Lana, Sienna replied with a sigh.
