Chapter 268
Sienna Hart curled her lips into a smile. Of course Evan Ash knew what would happen. He was just sending a message to her.
This guy’s got a keen eye, Sienna thought to herself.
“Have Fay Santos bring that person to me. Get everything ready–we’re heading back by sea. Sienna ordered.
The leak came from someone under Fay’s management, and the person must have a rather unique relationship with Fay. Sienna was curious to see just how much longer he could keep this up.
“Yes, ma’am!” Lana Yost immediately understood Sienna was planning to go with them.
“Mr. Eaton, she accepted them,” Evan reported as he returned.
Finn Eaton sat in the car, rubbing a pair of earrings in his hand. When he saw Evan return, he carefully put the earrings back into the box
Unable to hold back his curiosity, Evan asked carefully, “Mr. Eaton, is she the one you like?”
Finn didn’t even try to hide it. “Yeah.”
“So, how are you two getting along?”
“Just drive,” Finn let out a helpless sigh, clearly not wanting to talk about it any further. Evan got the hint and kept quiet, focusing on the road.
Thorn Noir got absolutely plastered at a bar. He staggered to Sienna’s place, too scared to even knock, and ended up passing out at her doorstep. When Sienna heard about it, she told Lana to toss him into the trash can.
The next morning, he woke up in a shaking garbage truck, the stench so bad he could barely breathe. “Help! Somebody help me!” he yelled.
“Sienna, you’re really ruthless. Who else would dare treat me like this except for you?”
Looking like a total mess, he was walking down the street when he ran into
Finn
Finn was a bit surprised to see him in such a distant area. He took a final bite of his bread and tossed the wrapper into a nearby trash
“What are you staring at? Never seen a handsome guy before Nightfall snapped.
He was only embarrassed for a couple of seconds before instantly switching to a cocky attitude, shooting Finn a glare He practically stormed away, like his feet were on fire.
“Mr. Eaton, I’m late, Evan said as he parked the car.
Noticing that Finn was still staring at a figure walking away, he asked, puzzled, “Mr. Eaton, who’s that?”
“Looks like someone who spent the night in a garbage truck.”
Evan was dumbfounded.
“Forget it. Let’s get back to business.”
“Mr. Eaton, are we heading out tonight? We might as well wait a little longer–there are definitely a lot of people lying in wait for us
He knew they were caught between a rock and a hard place–danger in every direction, and every extra minute they stayed just made things riskier.
“Evan, no matter when we leave, there’ll always be people waiting for us. There have always been people after money. This shipment. isn’t just jade ore–there are other important things. These belong to our country, and if anyone’s going to keep them safe, it should be
“Mr. Eaton, that lady doesn’t seem like just anyone.”

Chapter 268
But before he could finish, Finn snapped, “If you dare disturb her, you’ll have me to answer to.”
“Yes, Mr. Eaton.”
Realizing he’d raised his voice, Finn lowered his eyes. “Evan, from now on, just stay away from her. I don’t want her dragged into any trouble.
He would never disrupt her marriage. If his actions hurt their relationship, he’d never forgive himself.
Evan could truly feel the kind of deep feelings that couldn’t be spoken aloud. He just couldn’t understand; if Mr. Eaton couldn’t let her go, why not fight for her, or at least give it a try?
au know?” Evan ventured,
“Mr. Eaton, maybe it’s all just a misunderstanding, you
“As long as she’s happy, does it really matter if there’s a misunderstanding?”
After sending Evan out to take care of things, Finn reached into his chest pocket for an old, yellowed photo. It was a picture of Sienna Hart at seventeen–innocent, flawless, and brimming with talent.
He gently ran his fingers over the image. In his heart, Sienna had never truly left. Now that she was back, he told himself he should be happy. But as that thought crossed his mind, Finn gazed up at the night sky, eyes shimmering with unshed tears.
“Miss Hart, we’ve confirmed that Mr. Eaton’s ship is setting sail tonight,” Lana reported.
Sienna set down the documents in her hand. “Those antique vessels are what he really needs to bring back home. No wonder there are so many players eyeing this route.”
Lana looked puzzled. “Miss Hart, I don’t get it. The Eaton family made their name and fortune from antiques and relics–they’ve got serious pull in both politics and business. Even if they’ve been keeping a low profile lately, it doesn’t seem like they’d be the type to get pushed around by so many people.
Sienna let out a helpless sigh, unbuttoning her coat and started to change.
“Lana, you’re underestimating how dark people can be inside. When temptation is strong enough, nobody cares whose family you come from
If someone managed to shatch this shipment, they could become a tycoon overnight–the family could live in luxury for five generations.
“Miss Hart, are we trying to build a connection with them?”
