He ended the call and hurried to open the car door for her. “Ms. Lewis, your carriage awaits.”

Chloe got into the car gracefully, and they set off for Mistveil Manor.

She had a clear goal for tonight’s auction.

Meanwhile, the entrance to Mistveil Manor was bustling with arriving guests. Before anyone could enter, they had to pass through strict security. Phones and other communication devices weren’t allowed inside -the banquet’s details were to remain private.

Every guest had to present their invitation. No invitation, no entry. It didn’t matter who you were. If your name wasn’t on the list, you weren’t getting in.

A sleek Rolls–Royce pulled up to the entrance. A doorman rushed to open the door.

Arthur was the first to step out.

Right behind him, another figure emerged from the car.

Jennifer was dressed in her finest. She wore an exquisite gown and a complete set of glittering diamond jewelry. Anyone with an eye for such things could tell it had cost a small fortune.
