Chapter 127 Clo–Clo
The blonde woman named Selina Desilets heard Landon and walked toward him with elegant
steps.
“You’re always the one who enjoys waiting for me,” she said, lightly bumping his shoulder as she reached him. “Stop pretending to be so pitiful!”
Landon clutched where she’d bumped him, making an exaggerated pained expression. “Ouch, darling! You just broke my heart. How are you going to make this up to me?”
Selina rolled her eyes before turning to Joseph with a polite, composed smile–her playful demeanor completely gone.
“Ms. Desilets, welcome! Please, have a seat,” Joseph offered warmly.
Before he’d even finished speaking, Selina had already settled into the spot right beside Landon.
Chloe had been about to take the seat next to Landon, but now found herself without a clear place to sit.
“Selina’s my friend, but she and Eugene mix like oil and water. Do me a solid and sit next to Eugene instead,” Landon whispered into Chloe’s ear.
Hearing this, Chloe glanced over at Eugene on instinct. He sat completely motionless, oozing such an intimidating vibe that sitting next to him felt like playing with fire.
But Chloe quickly reconsidered. She was getting paid ten times her usual rate for this job–she needed to play her part well. Compared to Landon’s laid–back, playful attitude, Eugene’s calmness seemed a lot easier to get along with.
Truthfully, she felt slightly more familiar with Eugene.
Without another word, Chloe gathered her dress and gracefully took the empty seat beside Eugene.
Landon sat down next to Selina, stretching his arm out to pull her close. But Selina, anticipating his move, caught his wrist and twisted it expertly.
“Let go! Can’t you be gentle? Keep this up and you’ll never find a husband,” Landon complained, his face scrunched in genuine discomfort.
Selina raised a perfectly shaped eyebrow. “With that weak physique of yours, you think you can handle me? Know your limits.”

“Alright, alright! I surrender! You win!” Landon yielded.
Only after he conceded did Selina release his wrist. The moment he was free, Landon straightened up and shot her an annoyed look. “You should’ve sat next to Eugene today. I invited our beautiful ‘Clo–Clo‘ to be my companion.”
Clo–Clo?
The nickname made everyone turn to look at him.
Selina stared at Landon with deep suspicion.
Eugene’s gaze shifted toward Landon, calm but carrying a dangerous undertone.
Chloe looked at Landon, the term “Clo–Clo” echoing in her mind, and nearly choked on her own breath.
She had to admit–Landon was a generous boss. He paid well!
But “Clo–Clo“? Really?
“Quit flaunting yourself, will ya? Leave decent women alone,” Selina cut in sharply. She then turned to Chloe, her expression softening. “Hey beautiful, let’s chat later. Don’t waste your time on this fool.”
Chloe responded with a gentle smile. Selina’s sharp words didn’t seem to bother Landon at all -he actually laughed, looking unbothered. Clearly, this was their normal dynamic.
“We still have an hour before the auction begins. The manor has acquired several new pieces recently. Let me show you around,” Joseph announced.
With Joseph leading the way, the group left the room to view his private collection.
Joseph walked ahead as their personal guide. Eugene observed the artifacts with quiet appreciation. Landon and Selina walked close together, engaged in their own private conversation.
Chloe followed at the back, taking in her surroundings while marveling at the sheer scale of Joseph’s collection.
“Mommy, that painting is already valued at 80 million on the black market.”
Robert’s voice came clearly through her earpiece, Chloe maintained her composure. While Mistveil Manor blocked regular signals, Robert had equipped her with a special communication line that allowed instant, two–way communication.
Before she left, Oralia had given her a custom–made brooch that perfectly complemented her
