He Cheated I Rose: Making Him Regret Everything (Chloe and Arthur) novel Chapter 134

Chapter 134: Eugene Stepped In

Chloe remained rooted to the spot, her eyes locked on Arthur as he stormed toward her with determined steps. A flicker of thought crossed her mind—should she deliver a swift, sharp kick to his most sensitive spot and leave him crumpled on the floor? But before she could act, a tall figure suddenly moved between them, effectively blocking Arthur’s advance.

Just as Arthur’s hand shot out to seize Chloe, another hand intercepted with lightning speed, gripping his wrist firmly.

The hold was immediate and unyielding, sending a sharp jolt of pain shooting up Arthur’s arm.

“Who—?” Arthur growled, his eyes snapping upward to meet a pair of intense, unblinking eyes.

That single look sent an unexpected shiver down his spine, stirring a strange, uneasy tension deep within him.

The moment passed quickly, and Arthur immediately recognized the man—a mysterious stranger who had appeared earlier alongside Joseph.

“Sir, using physical force is no way to treat a lady,” Eugene said calmly, though the polite smile tugging at his lips didn’t reach his eyes. His grip on Arthur’s wrist remained as firm as iron.

“Mind your own business! Who are you?” Arthur barked, struggling to pull his arm free. But no matter how hard he tried, Eugene held him effortlessly, as if restraining a child.

Who was this man? How could he possess such strength?

“Whether I have the right to intervene is not your decision to make,” Eugene replied evenly. He glanced back at Chloe, positioning himself as her protector. “That’s for Ms. Lewis to decide.”

“What?” Arthur blinked, completely thrown off by the calm defiance in Eugene’s voice.

The commotion had already attracted the attention of nearby guests. Hearing the noise, Joseph turned and started moving toward the scene.

“What’s going on here?” Joseph asked, his voice steady but curious.

Arthur ignored the chance to approach Joseph and mend fences. Instead, his mind was made up—he would do everything in his power to reclaim Chloe the moment he found her.

What could be more humiliating than being betrayed by his own wife?

Regardless of the truth, if Chloe and Joseph were involved, Arthur was determined to take her away, no matter the cost.

Madilyn and Jennifer hurried to Arthur’s side. Seeing Joseph approach, Madilyn quickly forced a polite smile.

“Mr. Slade, it’s been a while,” she said, extending her hand in greeting. But Joseph ignored her and walked straight past, heading directly toward Arthur and Eugene.

“What is happening here?” Joseph asked Arthur pointedly.
