Chapter 182 Refusing to Apologize

“Chloe, stop trying to dodge the issue. You stole Linda’s design, used underhanded tricks to get your position, and dragged the whole industry down with you. Just tell us–how are you planning to make things right today?” Lisa let out a cold laugh, then raised her voice, sharp and loud. “You should apologize to Linda now!”

Chloe heard this and actually smiled.

“Apologize? You can try that yourself later.” Chloe’s gaze landed heavily on Lisa. “If you’re angry I was late, I’ll say sorry. But if this is about the designs–no chance.”

Her blunt refusal stunned everyone at the scene.

Most had assumed she called this press conference because the public pressure forced her to come and apologize. Yet here she was, outright refusing.

“Chloe, don’t push your luck. Just because you have Cosmos Group backing you, you think you can walk all over Tranquil Vision?” Lonny snapped, jumping up from his chair, furious.

“You copied Linda’s work and act like it’s nothing. That’s some next–level arrogance.” Lisa pointed at Chloe, angry. “Fine, you’ve got powerful backing. But if you did it, why not just admit it? Is saying sorry really that hard?”

Chloe’s cool gaze moved past Lisa and settled on Linda.

“You’re right–if someone did it, they should own up to it,” Chloe repeated softly, but her words carried a sharp sense of oppression.

When Linda met Chloe’s eyes, her heart gave a jolt. She didn’t know why, but even now, Chloe carried herself with unshakable confidence.

Was her background really that powerful? Or was she just completely out of touch, unaware of how bad this could get, blinded by her own pride?

Landon left the stage and hurried up to the conference room on the next floor.

Eugene stood by the floor–to–ceiling window, smoking. A lit cigarette rested between his long fingers.

Landon looked down through the window. The situation below was reaching a boiling point. Any longer, and it might spiral out of control.

He was genuinely worried. But Eugene didn’t seem nervous at all. In fact, Landon was sure he saw a trace of a smirk on his face.

Eugene’s eyes had been fixed on Chloe from the moment she showed up.

“No matter how bad it gets, I’ve got her back! Let her do what she wants,” Eugene said, like it was nothing.

Landon stared, speechless.

Back on stage, Lisa heard Chloe’s defiance and sneered. “Chloe, you pull a stunt like this and still refuse to apologize? Shouldn’t an apology at least come with the right attitude?”

“If I didn’t do it, why should I apologize?” Chloe’s smile remained relaxed. “If you’re waiting for me to fall, you’re going to be disappointed.”

As she spoke, Chloe scanned the crowd. Her calm expression and unshaken confidence made it clear–she wasn’t backing down.

In a quiet corner off to the side, Monique and Carolyn stiffened at her words.

Chloe, just confess already. Admit what you did in front of everyone.

So why is she still so damn sure of herself?

“Chloe, maybe Tranquil Vision is small–nothing compared to Cosmos Group. But even with your connections, you can’t erase the truth. You stole Linda’s concept, then released your ‘Four Seasons‘ collection. And you reduced it to twelve. If you’re going to copy, at least do it properly.”

Lisa raised her voice again and called out to the reporters nearby, “Look at this! This is how a plagiarist behaves. I doubt she even knows the first thing about design.”
