er 224 Carolyn’s Winning Card
“Please escort these visitors out. They came to see me, but they can’t follow basic rules. Since that’s how it is, remove them. Act like they were never here.” Carolyn raised her voice on purpose. “You brought this on yourselves. Don’t blame me for not sparing our sisterly bond.”
“Who’s your sister? We don’t even know you,” Robert shot back, then turned to the security team. “This is the VIP lounge. We need quiet. Can you please escort this woman away? She’s so noisy.”
The guards recognized Chloe. Once they understood who was being asked to leave, they focused on Carolyn.
“Miss, I’m
sorry. This is the VIP area. Please return to your assigned space. Guests using this lounge have the right to a quiet environment.” The lead guard stepped forward politely but firmly, gesturing for Carolyn to go.
“Are you blind? Do you even know who I am?”
“Ms. Carolyn Lewis, you’re with the Rebirth production. Of course we know,” the man replied calmly. “Ms. Chloe Lewis is our guest. She’s here specially to visit the set today.”
That set Carolyn off. What was wrong with these guards? How dare they speak to her like that?
Didn’t they take orders from Henry? And now they were turning on her? They must have a death wish!
Carolyn slapped the guard hard across the face, the sound echoing sharply. “Open your eyes! Who do you think got them in here? Me! I arranged every last bit of it. Now I’m telling you to throw them out. Right now. Move.”
The guard touched his stinging cheek, forcing himself to stay calm and not fight back.
“Ms. Carolyn Lewis, we’re just doing what we’re told–orders from up top. Please don’t make this difficult,” the man said, his tone firm.
“Don’t you get it? What I say goes–it’s the same as what the higher–ups say!” Carolyn’s voice grew even louder. She glared at the security team, her composure cracking. “I’ll say it again. Get this mother and son out now. I’ll take full responsibility.”
She was furious. She’d just sent Henry a stream of thank–you texts with kissy emojis.
Now these people were acting up again. Did she have to drag Henry here in person to make them listen?
“Sorry, Ms. Carolyn Lewis. We can’t do that. If you keep causing a disturbance, we’ll have to ask
1/2
you to leave,” the guard said, nodding to a colleague. “Please take Ms. Carolyn Lewis back to her lounge.”
“What? You’re telling me to leave? Do you get that this is the VIP lounge? This is Mr. Merrow’s space. Besides him, only Oralia has the right to be here. That mother and son are here to see me. If I don’t belong here, what right do they have?”
“It’s not your place to decide who has rights here,” the guard said, his gaze turning cold. “Ms. Carolyn Lewis, don’t mess with our work.”
Carolyn’s face was dark with anger. “Fine. Just wait. I’ll have your higher–ups talk to you right now. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. You’re messing with the wrong person.”
She pulled out her phone and quickly dialed Henry.
The phone rang a few times before he picked up.
“I’m being bullied on set! Security is trying to kick me out. Someone’s causing trouble for me and getting away with it,” Carolyn complained loudly on purpose. “Now these guards are saying I can’t give orders. They even tried to put their hands on me!”
