He Cheated I Rose: Making Him Regret Everything (Chloe and Arthur) novel Chapter 228

**A Promise Hidden in the Quiet Rain by Adrian Hale**

**The LV Staff’s Public Correction**

Wasn’t Snowy Cafe that place everyone raved about for its ridiculously low prices? How could something so inexpensive be labeled as a “carefully planned gift”?

Only 2,300 dollars? And he thought that was a grand gesture? Where did he find the audacity? He even had the nerve to send her flirty texts, boasting about going “three hundred rounds” tonight!

What a complete jerk!

Carolyn felt her frustration bubbling over as she pushed the delivery receipt away from her, her hand trembling slightly. “Get out of here! This isn’t my order!” she exclaimed, her voice sharp and demanding.

The receipt fluttered to the floor, and Henry, noticing it, ambled over and picked it up, his demeanor annoyingly casual.

“Alright, you can leave now,” he instructed the delivery person, his tone dismissive. “I’m the one who placed this order. I’ll sign for it myself.” He took the receipt, handing it off to his assistant before turning back to Carolyn, an expectant smile plastered across his face.

“So, Carolyn, what do you think? Getting one for everyone shows I really care, right? I mean, it’s scorching out today; I thought everyone would appreciate a refreshing seasonal drink.”

He glanced around, seeking validation from the nearby staff, his eyes wide with hope. “Right, guys?”

However, the reaction he received was far from what he expected. Their expressions tightened, some staff members even attempting to conceal the brand new LV scarves they had hastily wrapped around their necks.

Silence hung in the air, thick and uncomfortable. When no one responded, Henry turned back to Carolyn, confusion etched on his face. “What’s wrong?”

Robert, standing nearby with an innocent grin, decided to chime in. “Mister, this lady here just told everyone that those expensive LV scarves were from her. Since you’re the one footing the bill, and the LV people are still here, why not just buy them? She’s already taken credit—now put your money where your mouth is.”

The delivery truck had yet to leave, its cheerful jingle echoing in the background, a stark contrast to the tension in the room.

The LV staff, suppressing laughter, maintained a serious facade. “We’ve confirmed with headquarters. These are all welcome gifts prepared by Ms. Chloe Lewis for everyone. Additionally, each scarf is custom-printed with the Rebirth crew logo. We hope they brighten your workdays, and we extend our gratitude to Ms. Chloe Lewis for choosing our products.”

In a show of respect, the LV staff bowed to Chloe, who stood nearby, her presence commanding attention. After verifying her identity, they departed, leaving a sense of disbelief lingering in the air.

Henry felt as if the ground had shifted beneath him. He grabbed a cup of coffee, extending it toward Carolyn as if it could somehow mend the situation.

“There must be a misunderstanding,” he began, his voice lowering as he attempted to shift the blame. “I texted you. I ordered the ‘first gift of autumn—one for everyone.’ I thought you understood what I meant.” He tried to pin the mix-up on his secretary, as if that would absolve him of any responsibility.
