He Cheated, I Rose: Making Him Regret Everything
Chapter 264 A Dangerous Reunion
“Everyone, back off.”

A voice came from inside the room–calm, light, impossible to place. It held no emotion, no hint of gender, yet it carried a natural authority that seemed to press down on the very air.
The guard who had been about to take her phone retreated right away. Chloe stood at the door, a shopping bag hanging loosely from her fingers.
The man who had brought her here stepped forward and quietly pushed the door open.
“Ms. Lewis, after you.”
Having said that, he turned and left. The others also withdrew one by one. In an instant, the place fell completely silent.
Chloe stood at the entrance. If she hadn’t known someone was inside, she might have thought she’d walked into a desolate place with no one around.
She went in, still holding the bag–full of snacks, milk, and a couple of toys. They looked completely out of place in such a cold, quiet space.
The light was soft and dim. With one glance, she spotted the person lying lazily on the tatami, relaxed as a sleeping cat.
In that gentle glow, she finally saw clearly the face she hadn’t laid eyes on in six years.
He lay there with a kind of lazy arrogance, his long hair loose around his shoulders. Tall, too relaxed, too sure of himself–someone who always lived by his own rules.
“Clo–Clo, it’s been years. Did you miss me?” The figure on the tatami let out a low laugh and slowly sat up. His loose hair made his striking features seem even more dangerously bright.
Chloe frowned. He was devilishly pretty–and not in a harmless way.
Vincent Melton–a man more beautiful than most women.
But his looks weren’t the problem. The problem was, everything he did was wild, like he wasn’t made for this world. That’s just how he was.
She ignored the pet name. “Six years, and you’re still alive.”
He laughed, clear and light, the sound echoing through the room and sending a chill down the spine.
“After all these years, you’re still the only one who dares talk to me like that.”
Chloe didn’t react. She met his laughter with calm silence.
“Sit down. No need to be tense. My place is yours to go crazy in, no holds barred, forever,” he said, moving closer. His eyes fell on the bag in her hand–milk, snacks, toys. His gaze darkened.
“Do you love that child so much?” he asked, out of nowhere.

Chloe flicked a glance at him, a faint smile tugging at her lips. “Of course. He’s my son.”

“That child is Arthur’s. That man had you and didn’t know how to cherish you. Now the whole world is saying he’s going to marry some worthless woman.” He took a slow step closer, his voice dropping to a purr as soft as velvet against her skin.
“That Jennifer–I’ve looked into her. A broad like her–feeding her to the fish in the sea would pollute the water. She’s got a rap sheet of dirty deeds a mile long. When she was abroad, the number of men she’s been with–you couldn’t count them on one hand. And that child—no father listed, because even she doesn’t know who the father is.
“And that’s the woman Arthur treats like a treasure.”
“That’s his business. Not mine,” Chloe replied coolly. “If you’ve dug that deep, you should know Arthur and I are divorced. We have nothing to do with each other anymore.”
“He didn’t appreciate you. He hurt you. You know what? Since I arrived in Capaville, I’ve already thought of ten thousand ways to kill him.” He smiled at her, his eyes warm but dangerous. “Clo–Clo, choose one. Tell me how you want him to die. I’ll make it happen. You won’t have to lift a finger. I’ll take care of everything.”
“Vincent, my life is my own. I don’t need you interfering,” Chloe said, her voice steady and calm.
