“With Scott’s 20%, plus the 10% Carolyn and I hold, and your 10%, that makes 40%. Add in the support from the shareholders aligned with you, and we’ll control over 50%,” Monique replied with a smug look. “At that point, no matter what Chloe tries, she won’t be able to touch us.”

“We still need to deal with Scott first,” Ernesto said in a low voice.

“That fool signed the executive order without a second thought and made Chloe vice president,” Monique sneered. “Now Carolyn has to work as a cleaner in the company.”

Hearing Carolyn’s name, Ernesto pulled Monique closer. “When are you going to tell her I’m her real father? It drives me crazy hearing her call another man ‘Dad‘ right in front of me.”

“It’s not the right time yet. Carolyn is too impulsive. If we tell her now, she’ll ruin everything,” Monique said, gently stroking Ernesto’s chest. “Ernesto, I’ve waited so long for the day our family can be together openly. Can you make that day come sooner?”

“It won’t be long now. Chloe thinks she can turn Lewis Group around in a month. Once that deadline passes, not only will she fail–she’ll lose Lewis Group for good,” Ernesto sneered, curling his lip. “By then, it’ll be time to rename the company.”

Hearing this, Monique excitedly turned and hugged him. “Then… will you marry me properly?”

Ernesto looked at her, hesitated briefly, then smiled. “Of course. I’ve been waiting for that day too.”

Overjoyed, Monique leaned down and kissed him. Whoever had called earlier was now completely forgotten.
