He Cheated I Rose: Making Him Regret Everything (Chloe and Arthur) novel Chapter 330

**A Promise Hidden in the Quiet Rain by Adrian Hale**
**Chapter 330: Point of No Return**

The partnership agreement from Myers Group lay ominously before Chloe, its stark white surface reflecting her inner turmoil. Would she dare to sign it? The very thought sent a shiver down her spine, for if she did, every arrogant word she had ever uttered would echo back to her, a mocking chorus of her own making.

Today, it felt as though Chloe had no other option but to proceed.

Monique, with a sly glint in her eye, stole a glance at Ernesto, who lingered silently in the corner. A smirk threatened to break free from her carefully crafted facade.

The evening had unfolded in a whirlwind of tangled emotions. Monique and Ernesto had been entwined in each other’s company until nearly eight o’clock, their laughter and whispers filling the villa. But the time for secrecy was over; they had to make their entrance at the company separately to avoid drawing any unnecessary attention. Monique had arrived first, her heart racing with anticipation, and soon after, Ernesto had blended in with the other staff, a mere shadow among them.

Now, facing Chloe, Monique felt a surge of confidence. She had rehearsed her arguments meticulously, ready to unleash them like arrows aimed at a target. As a shareholder herself, and with Chloe insisting that all shareholders attend today’s critical meeting, Monique was poised to assert her rights with gusto.

Today, she would relish the sight of that insufferable girl, Chloe, becoming the focal point of public scorn. Monique imagined the satisfaction of witnessing Chloe’s downfall, her expulsion from the Lewis Group becoming a spectacle for all to see.

Chloe, still dreaming of leading the company? What a farcical notion, Monique thought, a bitter laugh bubbling up within her.

However, before Monique could fully savor her anticipated victory, Scott’s grip on her wrist sent a jolt through her. His voice was tight with urgency as he demanded, “Monique, where is that emerald ring?”

The pressure of his fingers made her wince, and she struggled to maintain her composure. “Ring? What ring are you talking about?” she replied, feigning ignorance.

“Chloe’s mother’s ring—the emerald one. The housekeeper mentioned you took it. Where is it?” Scott’s voice was laced with tension, his eyes piercing into hers. “Tell me quickly, Monique. Where is the ring?”

Caught off guard, Monique felt her heart race. She had to think fast. The dead woman’s belongings? It took her a moment to piece together what he meant. After marrying Scott, she had taken charge of the entire Lewis household, including all remnants of that deceased woman’s life.

Those pieces of jewelry had once been quite valuable—the woman had owned some truly exquisite items. Scott had been generous back then, but that generosity had long since faded into memory.

Why was he asking about the ring now? It wasn’t as if she had stolen it; Scott himself had told her she could dispose of everything as she saw fit.

“I… got rid of those things. You gave me permission to handle them however I wanted, so I did,” Monique replied, her voice steady but her insides churning. “Since you said I could, I sold them.”
